Everyone talks about how Part 7 wipes most other parts out of the water and it's not really true. Yes, Part 7 has probably the best overarching plot writing for JoJo, but there are a lot of weaknesses that are overlooked like how the majority of stands are bad or heavily underutilized outside of a few major exceptions (probably due to the emphasis on Spin), or how certain characters are unceremoniously dumped from the story, even if they're side characters who were rather important earlier on.
Gyro's stand is even nebulous to what degree it's distinct from Spin, since it shows up a grand total of one time.
>Gyro has the personality of wood, not even trying to be subtle with how he's ultimately a device for the protagonist's generic growth arc >Lucy is the efficient damsel who has to fight off rapists, oh my! >Diego's image got fucked with ZA WARUDO fanservice and muh rape attempt >Valentine is the most personalityless piece of trash main villain in the series that only mindless American drones salivate over >Sandman gets reduced to a generic villain of the week >Pocoloco is reduced to a literally who >Hot Pants and Wekapipo are dull throwaway faggots with lame sob story backstories shoved down our throats >most minor villains are forgettable as fuck (Boom Boom Family, Porkie Pie Hat Kid, Mrs. Robinson, Dr. Ferdinand, Mike O, Disco, Oyecomova) >that cringe redemption scene for Johnny's father at the end
Part 7 is shit compared to the actual good parts of jojo, like part 8 and 4.
Brandon Robinson
Yeah it's not a perfect part, none of the 8 are, but it was the more fun to read for me
Caleb King
>"weaknesses" >pointless subjective shit get your pretentious blog outta here
David Thomas
>certain characters are unceremoniously dumped from the story this is a fact though
Liam Mitchell
>that cringe redemption scene for Johnny's father at the end Off-screen daddy issues that get magically solved off-screen with the characters not ever interacting. Seriously what was up with that crap? I was expecting it to turn into a joke or something, but it never came.
Levi Stewart
Been a while since I read it, how did they reconcile?
Hudson Evans
>shoved down our throats For whatever reason insufferable babies tend to use this phrase alot
Landon Cruz
Hoes Mad
Cameron Walker
lmao all 100% wrong, trash takes
Sebastian Nelson
SBR feels so good to people because they're reading it after they just slogged through both Vento Aureo AND Stone Ocean. No matter how bad SBR was, it would still seem like a masterpiece compared to those trash parts.
Josiah Price
So is Spin now a thing in Part 8 as well?
Levi Howard
Spin is the new universe Hamon
Zachary Thompson
Shame, I was hoping that we wouldn't default to a shitty power asspull. I guess it's all winding down to a poorly executed Araki finale again
Elijah Cooper
Stone Ocean will get appreciated more once it gets animated, I think majority will rank 6 above Part 1, 5 and 3, but only in terms of the Anime, not the Manga.
Alexander Taylor
I don't care what animeonly normalfags appreciate. It's still an objectively bad manga, and it being bad is what makes Steel Ball Run look so much better in comparison.
Andrew Kelly
>It's still an objectively bad manga How?
Ian Young
I doubt it'd rank above 5. While I like 6, 5 had great characterization for the side dudes in the anime, meanwhile 6 really suffers in that department. Hermes and Annasui are non-charcters, Emporio and Weather are half-characters and the bulk of the villain cast is fucking garbage. Plus most people won't understand Dragon's Dream and will be bored to tears by Yo Yo Ma and the rest of the high security cripple fights
Kevin Butler
They didn't. His dad just suddenly shows up at the finish line of the race and confesses his mistreatment of Johnny to a crowd of people.
Grayson Barnes
When will they release this exact Jojo Manga box set in English?
Horrid character designs, messy and unreadable art, contradictory "plot", terrible fights, cast has no personality or development, plagiarized backstories, boring setting... do I need to go on?
Nathaniel Price
I don’t know but Araki said it was a mistake.
Brayden Robinson
>5 had great characterization for the side dudes in the anime All they got going for them is their sob stories tho. They're actually just as bad as the part 6 characters but it's just that the idea of them being a team is more forefront, as opposed to 6 which are literal who's forced together.
Sebastian Peterson
Jolyne and Pucci are great, but the supporting characters are the worst since part 1 and the story is somehow sloppier than part 4's.
Aaron Lewis
Part 4 story isn’t sloppy, the Bites the Dust time paradox loops made perfect sense and elevated the story to Galaxy Brain
Asher Foster
>>Gyro has the personality of wood, not even trying to be subtle with how he's ultimately a device for the protagonist's generic growth arc What the fuck are you talking about? Yes, he's a device for Johnny's growth, but he also gets his own character arc. He does not have the personality of wood. They literally delineate what his character is about in the Ringo arc.
Noah Kelly
>elevated the story to Galaxy Brain Maybe if Araki didn't drop the time travel plot line
