How old is too old to go to college?

I'm 22, spent the last six years working as a machinist. I'd love to go back to uni to enjoy the frat life and finish my degree, but by the time I transfer I'd be older than everyone. So how old is too old?

Kek, user uni is a scam

Cope

Retard cope lmao

youre never too old, but in terms of being too old to be part of the "culture" the cutoff is like 25.

that being said, you have been working a real job and been in the "real world" for several years whereas the college freshmen who will be your peers dont have any real life experience. the maturity levels might be a stark contrast.

at least thats what ive observed

t. tradie who is just now starting to go for his engineering degree at 21

This.

But user, sex.

I plan to maybe do this After I make it and just take bullshit classes and find hot girls . I’m under 30 and will he still young looking so I’m sure it could be a possibility

It unironically is a scam to trap people in debt and lock them into a "career path" to work until 65. It's bullshit. user, if you get a scholarship and can go for free or at least cheap, do it. I deeply regret getting my stem degree instead of learning a trade, starting my own business, or learning effective investment techniques.

personally i felt too old for frat style house parties by 21.

>i deeply regret getting a stem degree instead of learning a trade

why? so you can crawl around in a hot ass attic trying not to get heat stroke during the middle of summer? so you can sling pipe through a dusty crawlspace? so you can blow your knees and back by the time youre 30?

also you can learn how to invest and start your own business in something related to your field. gotta open your mind a lil more user, the grass is green where you water it.

if you are a wagie, people will certainly judge you for not finishing. it is low status not to have a degree without some other great achievement.
if you can flip and stop being a wagie, thats great, but it is tough to do so.

Are you american? Do you think it's worth eating the debt for whatever you're getting a degree in? What are you getting your degree in.
.t 23 y/o who should probably just go to trade school for HV/AC to save time and avoid debt.

I hate to break it to you, but you're definitely too old to like, start up at a uni and be part of the frat scene. You could certainly go for career reasons, and you'd certainly make some friends and meet some women, but your age will limit your reach in terms of campus socializing. Also, college "social life" is about to be nonexistent for the next year, covid really fucked them over hard.

Pick a better trade then, and eventually go on your own.
OP: 22+ is the upper end, typically a little too old for college parties. Also thats super cringe going to college just for parties. Total normie move.

My friend is going back to community college at 38. Has a year to go there then will transfer to university at 39.

22 is nothing.

More that I could be debt-free, leave work at work, and have a head start on investing early on in life. Trades are effective for raising capital and minimizing debt. Conglomerates run the biotech industry, there's not a whole lot of room for startups without some heavy backing.

I went back to school at 25 user. Doing a Bachelor of Nursing. Average age in my program is like ~25, so it doesn't feel weird at all. 22 is fucking young and no one would even notice your age imo. Even if you're going just to party, which is probably retarded because socializing is dead in 2020

Old people go to college all the time.

Plenty of people go back in their 30s and even 40s. Im thinking about it myself. Will you fit in? Probably not but who gives a fuck

some people in my class were in their 50s and 60s. But if you want a career it's probably 21 so you can graduate by 25. I think by 25 you need to be on some kind of path. You can go later but it will be increasingly difficult to start an actual career. By 30 most people are in middle management, by 40 you should have started your own business, ie consulting. By 50 you retire

Depends what you want to do. A lot of career paths require a degree (teaching, engineering, medicine, etc...)
If you don’t want want of those jobs just go all in on getting better at whatever you choose. A machinist job would look good on a resume for an engineer if you like the work. Any experience has value just like (often more than) college

Had a frat bro who was around 27 I think because he was in the air force first. It won't feel weird as long as you dont make it weird.

if you're going back to school and you're only thinking about homosexual frat boy activities you're just going to waste your time

Technically IT is a trade in the sense that all you really need to get an entry level job is ur certs. Trades are much broader then people like you make it out to be, even tattooing is considered a trade lol.

>i felt too old to socialize with 18-21yo babes when I was 21
virgin detected. any man will feel comfortable at a frat party until ~25 easy. it's only uncomfortable if you're afraid of girls/jocks

this, college ruined my life and taught me nothing except all women are whores. teach yourself whatever you want to do and apply to jobs in the field.

maggot shit comments, why bother speaking

22 is young af, im 31 and thinking of going back to uni cause i made it and now i wanna become a lifelong student.
Never stop learning, at 22 you can still perfectly blend in with younger students
(if you can study outside the us though id suggest it since us education prices are crazy)

you can always just lie about your age as long as you look somewhat passing
its not like in social circles they'll ask for prove of anything
i'd be more worried about all on campus activities being cancelled in 2020-21

i am american and work in hvac. currently going to school and hope to get a degree in mech. eng. The debt is no biggie because the first two years will be at a fairly cheap community college so im looking at like 30-40k max for my bachelors.

trade school is fine and all, but you should know one harsh thing about trades:

they fucking suck. working 10-14 hour days, working outside in the rain, snow, sweltering heat, working in 140 degree attics, etc. and the pay is dogshit at the beginning. if youre ok with working in some terrible environments you can make good money and getting a job is really fucking easy.

No such thing as too old. I should probably go back and finish. I wouldn't go and try to be part of what the kids are doing though.

You can do the frat thing until 24, after that people will think you are too old and creepy. If you are super popular you’ll get to 25.

Yeah im 32 been doing constrution, warehouse and electrician work since high school. My body hurts, its not going to last another 10 years

Can I go back to college at 27, lie that I’m 22, refund classes after 4 week grace period and just sleep with 18 year olds?

i'm 25 and don't give a fuck. i don't want to die knowing that i never pursued an education. i have made 100k off LINK, soon i want to quit my job and become a dedicated student.

Send it OP, had guys in my frat who were 26. They were chillers. Just remember your grind and hang with the older guys. You’ll go through shit at first but you’ll always have more respect for your age

So much cope. University is the best time ever and you form very important connections or get a degree and end up with a kickass job making 6 or 7 figures. Feels wicked awesome being a chad.

Of course. Don’t lie about age though it doesn’t even matter. My friend graduated at 29 and was banging 18 year olds til he graduated actually still to this day cause he lives in college town still

get your gc license run a business

when you are dead

go ahead and enroll

you've got like 2 years left for frat parties to still be fun

nigga just download tinder

It sounds like you are still in university
