Overrated and 40 minutes too long. You can see the switcheroo coming miles away and it's the singular point of conflict in the entire thing. It might've been good as a 2 episode arc in the anime but the pacing absolutely destroys it.

A Silent Voice I would say does a lot of things really well, and I enjoy watching it every time. The only reason I like Liz more is just because I feel like it takes more risks with unconventional artstyle and storytelling. I pretty much like it better because it's different, not that it's not good, because it is. A Silent Voice is just a different story and I love both of them, if you like any other Yamada works, you'll like this one
