So yeah, the fact that this episode and the next are basically full on recap (the latter a bit less so) really underscores just the beginning of the struggles the anime producers had in creating a full season out of an couple of manga chapters; hence the original anime arc that encompasses much of the series later. And of course, Doki did air immediately the next week.
Dia is aware of pretty much everything that goes around her; she just doesn't pop out of her egg because...plot. You will note 65% of this season is original anime-based content, so the events of this recap here (including Dia's emergence) definitely did not occur in the manga itself proper.
