Unironically, was he really in the wrong??
Unironically, was he really in the wrong??
murder is wrong
Yes, it was made extra clear when he started REEEEEEEEing at everyone around him when he got caught.
At the beginning no, seeing as japan has the death penalty anyway. But, as soon as he tried to make his victims write shit before they died, he lost it
No, humanity muss work towards progress instead of living in fear of some omnipotent lunatic.
Humans should not have that kind of power.
Yes. He kept bitching about how criminals are bad but didn't give a shit about global terrorists
I'd understand if they weren't his priority seeing how he focused on Japan, but the fact that he didn't even consider them just shows how he didn't give as much of a shit about his "virtues" as he pretended to
Strategically, he was an idiot.
He had some GREAT ideas, but only because he put himself in shitty situations cause he didn't fucking think and didn't READ THE MANUAL. When you have control over people's actions like that, you wouldn't have to go running around.
Morally, he should have reserved his killings for people who REALLY needed to go.
The core idea behind it wasn't totally unsalvageable but he went about it in a really shit way and he didn't at all consider how moronic it was to completely rely on the justice system of whatever country he was meting out death for.
Kira does kill criminals in countries beside Japan, right? Does he give a shit at all about false convictions or governmental/police corruption, or people being arrested for crimes that don't actually go against his own moral sensibilities? Dude just wanted to be a god.
Didn't crime % plummeted thanks to him?, He was right.
Bad guys won't just go away unless you murder them.
Not really. Why is it okay when the state kills criminals, and why is it bad when Kira does it? What's the difference? At least Kira didn't do it for personal gain.
Not really.
A world without terrorist / niggers / jews would be nice
No but his performance was wrong.
not really he was just to insane to do the job properly
He didn’t kill of those though
he did at the end of the series wars have stopped and global crime rates have dropped by 70 percent
He did it to feed into his ego, it’s not like he had some sort of master plan other than act like god and kill people he didn’t like.
"No. You're just a murderer, Light yagami. And this notebook is the deadliest weapon of mass murder in the history of mankind. You yielded to the power of the shimigami and the notebook and you have confused yourself with a God. In the end you're nothing more than a crazy serial killer. That's all you are. Nothing more and nothing less."
Untraced crimes most likely stayed the same and law enforcement likely stopped publicizing arrest data and the such, inner city crime’s not going to take a turn just because of some chance of dying when that risk already exists.
headcanon
>wars have stopped
What?
yes he says it himself and in the one shots it is referenced by near and the new protagonist
Of course not.
Guy stopped the wars, thing that killed and kills lots of innocent people.
Not just that, he reduced crime by 70%.
one innocent person's life is way more important than a thousand criminals lives. By killing criminals we can save lives as simple as that.
Yeah, maybe light killed innocent people as well, but you can't do something this big without making your hands dirty.
The ends justify the means.
Yes.
he kinda was
I mean it's a good thing this is a fictional world where
a. all the people in prison really are criminals
b. all the criminals are identified and are in the prisons
If a fucker was framed or thrown in due to political dissent, or if there was a horrible serial killer who is elusive and thus don't have any identification to him at all (like another DN user) then he can kinda do more harm than good, and of course since he is outside the law you kinda question to whom's standard of morality is he operating on.
Just so you know in Japan
all the people in prison really are criminals
He is literally Twitter personified.
What?
at least read or watch death note.
likewise those people in the black suits aren't criminals, they're nice people they donate to charity and everything
Nah, he is Zig Forums personified
I can kinda see wars stopping due to the DN. Wars are a public thing and as soon as a General tries to announce he is the glorious strong leader that will make his country great again BAM heart-attack. enough times and people understand you can't war openly.
now secret wars, corruption, sweeping crime under the rug, and covert operations can be done without Kira knowing but hey as long as it looks peaceful
I’ve never actual seen anyone make a statement and backpedal on it in the very same post, bravo.
>killing local criminals instead of the jewish cabals
>backpedal
what are you talking about it's just as simple as the ends justify the means
Most major conflicts that happen in Africa and the Middle East have sides with highly decentralized command structures that can operate and rebuild if their leadership is beheaded. An insurgency will continue on regardless if the figurehead dies, they’ll just make him a martyr and he’ll serve just as well dead.
You good bro?
>figurehead
the entire command structure will be killed of by kira
Killing one figurehead? yes
killing every strongman and crony that dares be public with their intention? that can make people hesitate. They can't try to move too much to get notoriety because if they do the news reports, Kira knows, and Kira kills. Even if the people supporting them are laying low enough to be safe no one is going to volunteer to represent them since it's basically suicide.
>backpedal
Can you explain?
or are you simply retarded?
>Innocent lives are infinitesimally more valuable than criminals
>But it’s alright if a couple die in the process of killing criminals
