I always liked how this series handled 'death'. It allows for tense moments while still being lighthearted. It has the same emotional impact as actually killing them, but without being gruesome or edgy. We are still sad because that character won't be with us for the rest of the story, but it also adds a boosted motivation knowing that they are still rooting for our heroes from the Demon World.

those scenes look good by themselves as an OPT but when you read the manga they dont really hold that much power because the reason behind that is usually :
"Oh the others are fighting without me i have to hurry and save them cause theyre my friends. Queue heroic entrance from MC to save the day"
or "you thought i was finished but im actually not and i have this new powerup that will defeat you"
It continually introduces stronger and stronger antagonists and they get defeated in the exact same way as the last one.It completely relies on the viewer believing the sense of scale that the author introduces without properly "backing it up"
Honestly if it was my first shounen BR i probably would have liked it a lot more. Maybe the genre has become too saturated and im turned away from all the easily recognizable and infitely played out tropes.
Still the author draws intense faces and moments like no other.and manages to make gash who is a silly naive kid look serious and threatening. Thats definitely something the author has over other titles.
