To answer the actual question, Da Vinci is a monthly literary magazine published by Kadokawa. Short stories and novellas, along with some content related to manga and LNs. Madoka's just marketing, obviously.

Kinda reminds me of when I did a summer university program in Tokyo few years back; one of the seminars I went to talked about how some high-end fashion magazines were starting to occasionally use anime characters as models. Mainly Evangelion and Madoka. Funniest bit was Madoka and Homura being used extensively to model men's fashion in high-end men's fashion magazines. I was going to say what's the point of seeing fashion on anime characters but then I doubt most people could relate any better to a model wearing something. While I think the series really needs to cut its losses and end I think it's cool that it's gotten so prominent in Japanese pop culture for stuff like this to happen. I wonder if Ume is making money off this kind of stuff when they use the character designs for various things.

Its not like Magireco has any effect on the main canon, its a sidestory.
It also majorly revived interest in the franchise when it hadn't put out anything notable in years.

Also I appreciated how the anime had lots of different outfits for each character, like Yachiyo's boner-hiding pants.
