There's a high probability that would have happened if not for Corona. COVID is unironically the best thing to have happened for dems and Biden. Campaigning has basically been driven to a halt, which has drastically reduced Biden's media exposure and producing more mush-mouthed Alzheimers blunders. If it was a traditional presidential campaign, dems would be panicking. Not even the media and big tech censorship would be able to cover up Biden looking confused as fuck and giving incoherent answers at rallies and press conferences. Lefties and moderates alike would start to bring up concerns of Biden's ability to fill the role and they'd roll out a Tim Kaine like candidate as the nominee at the DNC.
