Though i never done weed myself, i live next to a "weed" neighbourhood that is kept around due "muh historical alternative state" stuff. Think Christiania in Denmark, but even smaller. And i've joined a few of their festivals as a fellow working man, only to see people so far burned out they're "OK" if they can string together two sentences. I don't think an occasional blow or two will turn your retarded, but when you start living it as a lifestyle for x years, it's clear that it takes a toll on your mental health and later physical health.
Still rather have weedfags than alcoholics though, since weedfags tend to be weak and harmless unlike some retard fueled by vodka or homebrew.
