So I've just worked out that today's negative rebase was at 2.13% can anyone confirm that on their end?
Ample negative rebase

bump
-2.083%, check the ampleforth dashboard and change the supply view from abs to %
I went from 6318 to 6186 so whatever percent that is anons
Means we got fucking dumped on again
Yeah that's 2.13%. I've calculated it.
Why are people buying ample during a negative rebase?
you're betting that it will be $1 at a higher market cap in the future which is incredibly likely
Because i'd assume now is a good chance to get a good % of the market cap; low coin price, plus half of ath market cap may be a great entry. I know lots of people do believe in this project and it can be quite beneficial to for the economy to have an elastic money protocol.
>beneficial for the economy
lmao what economy. Whales own most of the tokens and only sell their rebases. You will never actually gain marketcap in comparison to them as they do not sell on the way down. This is exclusively early adopters making tens of millions off idiots, and if the price ever moves into positive rebase territory they'll just begin selling the rebases again.

if they sell rebases they lose their % of the marketcap. how the fuck does anyone not understand how the coin works at this point, its explained 10x a day
if it's one dollar in the future it will be a lower market cap as it was the last time it was 1$ by the definitional functioning of the rebase. it will never be equal to or above that market cap until it passes 1$ for long enough for the supply to rebase back to same place it was before the neg rebases started. if it got to 1$ tomorrow it would be 2.13% lower than it was the last time it was at 1$. holders do understand this right?
This does make sense actually it has to stay above a dollar consistently for the supply of ample to to balance out from the negative rebases, but who's to say we aren't going past a dollar tonight, tomorrow or the next day or when normies fomo in and this gets listed on exchanges hype builds back up.. I really dont see this dip as the end of Ampleforth in fact this may have almost been worst case scenario and we have survived, no death spiral etc. As long as negative rebase doesn't go on for too long..
its literally the same for every stock and cryptoproject early investors dumping on retail buyers
NOT SELLING
checked. because you can buy more of the MC - look at the MC. and people cant time the bottom - like any other coin
rebases literally don't do anything what the fuck. you're buying and selling a fixed percentage of the total supply. it's the same as bitcoin just the number representing the percentage of the total supply you have bought changes. if the market cap goes up you make money. if the market cap goes down you lose money. its that simple.
Uhhh okay. Then why did my dollar value in my wallet increase by thousands everyday this month except the last 2?
Fuckin retard
I've given up trying to explain. The average person is just too stupid.
>I really dont see this dip as the end of Ampleforth in fact this may have almost been worst case scenario and we have survived, no death spiral etc. As long as negative rebase doesn't go on for too long..
if we make it out. which i think we will. this is incredibly bullish. it means that it WORKS!!! HOLY SHIT. its uncorrelated !!
Because the market cap went up? Your percent ownership was worth more?
Because I bought 2 days ago
what causes marketcap to rise? people buying in? this coin is a brainfuck
itt idiots still not understanding what the rebase even is at this point in time actually thinking they will make a profit against "still x200" bagholder whales
checked. demand and price, which is a function of demand. so i guess just demand
Are you serious?
I went from 90 somthing AMPL this morning to 80 something now.
Not bad.
>Muh death spiral
It only rebased by 2%
try -8.13% user...
so if nobodys buying and whales are market dumping, does this make the price fall? also people act like whales are selling their rebases, doesnt this still just dilute their marketshare vs the new circ supply?
Lets say for example there are 10000 coins in total.. and they are pegged via the code to be a $1.00 if price raises to $2 per coin (due to demamd) then ideally the system wants to produce coins over the next 10 days to stabilize it back to $1. So it will in this example produce 1000 coins that day,
total coins now = 11000
Adverage price should be around $1.90
Repeat process daily until desired target is achieved..
What causes market cap to rise is amount of coins times dollar amount so like anything more people buying will increase market cap.. but instead of like bitcoin having 1 coin out if 21000000 worth $10000 it will be able to have a basically infinite amount of coins according to demand, once the market cap gets bigger fluctuations will become way less because it will take bigger amounts to move the price, but at this time because when it is positive you are basically doubling up by getting more coins and they are worth more, but the opposite is happening and we are losing coins as well as the value being less than where it should be..
More people buying increases market cap but your owned % will always be the same i.e. 1/10 is the same as 10/100
They are fucking dumb. They could just wait and buy into upward movement and help keep the price above a dollar but they are braindead and greedy
yes and yes. but people are buying. just more sellers than buyers.
it does unless they are planning on buying lower. most likely they will increase their market share - they have and will shake out people. thats the name of the game. that is whats supposed to happen.
? you realize SOMEONE has to buy for it to have a upward momentum
It wasnt
Do you think it’s a good idea to hold on a neg rebase?
no buyers dummy, AMPL is dead, the team just got 20M worth and is dumping LOL
if they pump the price enough it won't be negative anymore
certainly looks like someone tried
No shit that’s kinda my point. It’s not moving up so don’t buy into it
if your a trader, no. but if your a holder, all that matters is if you believe in the project. fear/hype cycles are part of AMPL - its in the white paper. so eveything is going according to theory and its hella bullish.
