There's nothing noble about Alexander, he was a drunkard and destroyer of culture, a narcissist who murdered his and his father's supporters for not kissing his ass enough. After Persia, his conquests were almost random and with no coherent idea about empire building. His father was a far greater man and ruler and laid all the groundworks for Alexander's successes. A great military commander, an awful Emperor. He received the best education the world could offer, inherited one of the world's greatest militaries, and he squandered it all.
