Anime keeps pushing the absolute worst girl in history
*One of the worsts
Manga too. Blame Urusei Yatsura, where Lum was so popular Takahashi was forced to switch focus away from her self insert and promote her to main love interest.
Akane being shoved down our throats was pretty much Takahashi taking every possible measure for it not to happen again.
How many Akane pics you got in that folder and why did you save this one twice?
Wasn't Akane the self insert?
0. instead of saving shitty pics like that one, I just copy and paste the image link.
eh I think this was unironically a good depiction of 16 year olds dealing with being "engaged"/romantic relationships. teenagers aren't emotionally mature. ranma and akane both did dumb shit and were growing up together/becoming better people by the end
>another, more attractive girl with a better personality even so much as looks at ranma
>she beats him up
how can anyone like this cunt?
She had a compete personality change from mean girl that hates all men and overcompensates to mostly nice girl that attacks Ranma when he provokes her, and constantly needs rescuing. Never really got why the change happened
It worked for Lum and she's waifued by zoomers even now.
But she's not even the worst in her own series.
Nabiki is the best girl
Akane was the best girl of the series.
And Akane is the first of the Takahashi standard of making a normal highschool girl that has to deal with weird supernatural shit all around her in every other series that came after too.
This series got a lot of mileage out of the teased concept of what if Shinobu and Ryunosuke got together.
Everything in Ranma 1/2 played out exactly like a typical Ryunosuke story. With just a few superficial changes like Ataru is now an old martial arts master, Lum is a chinese girl, Mendo is a kendo captain, Megane is a chinese martial artist,
there is no girl worse than her.
*worst girl
Ranma 1/2 was a show from my early teens I enjoyed watching every day. On the other hand, Urusei Yatsura I never saw before until a few years ago. Now ask me which one struck me as a masterpiece I'll never forget? Yeah, so much for nostalgia faggotry theories. The very first 2 minutes of Urusei Yatsura and I knew this was a god damn masterpiece and the superior prototype to Ranma.
Ranma characters feel very forced and forgettable. Also I always wondered why Shampoo was a side character when everything about her felt like main girl potential. Not that I didn't like Akane, she was ok but not a single character felt like he or she can work on their own, they were all lacking. I wouldn't even consider comparing UY to Ranma because the later cannot even hope to complete. UY is superior in ever way imaginable, character writing, charm, individual episode stories, ideas, humor you name it. Ranma feels like a big self-insert focused fanfic.
Shampoo's original gimmick of constantly wanting to kill girl Ranma should have stuck around too. She really didn't have a point after her first couple appearances.
She looks better with long hair, but her sister is better
I'm going to be controversial and say Mamoru Oshii's direction is what made the UY anime a masterpiece.
Wasn't Ranma the first Takahashi manga that got more popular with girls than guys?
Wrong pic
Isn't the same cause Lum is the most attractive character and she has the best personality, ataru is a retard refusing to shag her
You are all homos here if you truly believe Akane was the worst
Akane is anything but normal. If anything, she rivals Mamiya Sakura for being a fucking weirdo surrounded by fucking weirdoes.
I'd have much rather chikkity china'd the chinese chicken
>pic unrelated
For me, it's Ukyo
Weirdly Ukyo was the most stable fiancee with her shit together
Either the actual anime or manga pushes the worst girl, or the fans push the worst girl.
In this thread, we have anime that push utter bottom tier girls.
But then, there's examples such as Nino. Who is utter garbage but seemingly 50% of the fanbase loves her.
But even then, there's hybrids. Such as Chainsaw Man, Makima is literally the worst girl to ever exist, yet the author and the fanbase loves her.
