Why does Zig Forums call this an asspull
I'm reading for the first time and just got to this part
A previous arrancar pointed out that the Espada goes from 1-10, when Grimmjow first attacked I believe
butthurt ulquiorraniggers
Just as bad as magma beating fire
Shawlong was wrong about everything including hitsugaya bankai he is an idiot
You fail at math if you start counting from 0, dipshit
>Just as bad as magma beating fire
That doesn't seems stupid to me. Magma is denser and hotter than fire, and since magma is also made of fused rocks and have an actual mass, is not stupid that it can defeat the fire
This. Acefags still seething like, 2010 was 5 turns back
see for an example
>We purposely trained him wrong. As a joke.
This is legitimately one of the funniest things I've ever read in a manga, I fucking howled laughing when this happened. It's just classic Kubo shit. It's dumb as fuck but I love it
I didn't think much of it, don't really see why it's such a big deal
It's a pointless misdirect that completely undermines all the other espada. It was just a dumb, out of nowhere move to "up the stakes" but it was pretty meaningless. Yammi sucks and nobody gives a fuck about him. No build-up, just a gimmicky, paper thin reveal for shock value. It's ultra hack-y.
Because Kubo didn't actually do anything with it besides use it to stall for time. Even if it wasn't planned or just an instance of retroactive continuity, it wouldn't have been too terrible if something had actually come of it.
But nothing did, it was padding through and through, never mind that he did it a second time for no real reason.
Pretty dumb because his number was 10 just a second before.
Spoilers: he dies offscreen and nobody explains how or why.
because it's funny, and just one example of many instances of "who told you [previously established thing] was [obvious assumption]?" that kubo likes to do for no reason
personally I just found it hilarious, but if you were holding Bleach to some kind of higher than average standard then I can see how the complete lack of 4shadowing got under people's skin. Yammy was introduced as the Nappa to Ulquiorra's Vegeta, and none of the Espada showed the slightest respect towards him that might hint he was someone they ever considered anything but the weakest among them
Kubo drew this. And that's it. It exists for nothing.
I like to imagine a big wheel by his desk that's just divided into two sections, "Arbitrary Powerup" and "Introduce New Charcters", and he just spins it whenever he can't think of something else.
Was he even strong? I literally don't understand.
I wouldn't be as mad if we ever got a proper video game and you could at least play as this thing yourself
But alas we got jack shit
Who knows? All of that got skipped. 100 to none right at the end of the arc, and you didn't even get to see it.
What's there to explain? He lost cuz he's a retard
He wasn't actually wrong that Hitsugaya would lose if he ran out of flowers. The last arc literally shows what happens when someone is forced to use their full power when not prepared too.
It was an asspult, but the only real issue with it is that the fight got offscreened. Espada starting from 0 doesn't imply that No. 0 is the strongest. 0 might imply that he is a prototype of some sort. There also way worse asspuls in Naruto and One Piece, and more of them as well since the series are longer.
Arbitrary plot twists in Bleach are funnier because Kubo only knows two and he can't stop reusing them, so they accidentally kind of turn into running gags.
I had never thought about it until this thread but as other anons pointed out:
- It is really badly foreshadowed (Yammy is shown several times as weaker than the others - though it makes sense that he'd actually be stronger than number 9, a mere menos)
- The reveal undermines Barragan and Stark, two characters that have a lot more weight to the story of arrancars and the Hueco Mundo
- Despite being supposedly strong he gets his ass kicked offscreen by two captains who are still badly injured from previous espada fights, while Stark requires coordinated effort from 2 captains and 2 former captains who all had trouble with him.
Basically, it's a reveal that amounts for nothing and only has a negative effect on the rest of the espada cast
The whole thing smells like executive meddling, and we know editors and publishers gave Kubo a raw deal. It's really bizzare - you have a fight with two of the most popular captains, which is something the publishers would probably want. On the other hand, why would Kubo set up the Yammi reveal and fight only to offscreen the whole thing, unless there was meddling involved?
I really don't think Kubo needs outside assistance to write badly.
Yammy's sticks was that he got stronger the more he ate and sleep (or so he said). So it makes sense that he was weaker at times. The fact that No.9 was a menos was actually a foreshadowing about some stuffs being wrong with the ranking too.
That said, Yammy was allowed to release his full powers inside the castle, which doesn't make any fucking sense when 1-4 weren't.
You joke, but thats what Kubo does. He's mentioned it in interviews before.
without the wheel, of course.
>Espada starting from 0 doesn't imply that No. 0 is the strongest.
But isn't it explicitly stated that the lower the number, the stronger the espada?
>He's mentioned it in interviews before.
Post the source
>and we know editors and publishers gave Kubo a raw deal.
Those editors were the only thing keeping Kubo in line with the rest of the weirdos they draw from to make shonen manga. In this instance it falls to:
-Editors telling him to quit dragging his dick for an eternity due to a total failure of understanding the phrase 'brevity is the soul of wit'.
-Kubo himself having no idea how to resolve a cliffhanger introduced to stall for time.
I mean it's not hard to think it's the latter regardless. Kubo revealed this thing several years later in Fake Karakura just to vomit up some Menos and die for a short-lived Vizard hypefest.
That idea was already debunked by the fact that n. 4 was stronger than n. 3, n. 2 and n. 1
I'm not saying that Kubo is a great writer, but this just feels off in a very specific way. Like even a bad writer would still want to put his bad ideas on paper (which was the 0 espada reveal). But if you already made it a plot point, why would you backtrack and offscreen the whole thing?
But didn't Ulquiorra say something to the effect of "you can't beat me and there are still 3 stronger than me"? The fact that he was only number 4 was supposed to be a shocking reveal.
>But if you already made it a plot point, why would you backtrack and offscreen the whole thing?
Because he had no idea whatsoever how to resolve that plot point.
use Google. I don't have this shit bookmarked. believe it or don't
