Forbidden Opinions

I'll start. What Did You Eat Yesterday was a great sol manga that shouldn't be dismissed just because of the gay main characters.

i only read/watch a series if there are at LEAST two male characters i can ship

Haha. Based.Give me some forbidden ships that will make fanboys seethe please.

I never read doujins of anime/manga series I have read.
This is why I only read love live doujins. I'll never ever watch anything related to it.

I guess my "hot take" is that anime/manga discussion on Zig Forums isn't actually any better or smarter than on reddit, so anyone going on about reddit here just comes across as one of those sad little kids who desperately tries but fails to convince other people how mature they are.

>bro I liked a GAY manga! forbidden opinions am I right??
Is this your first day here or something?

Berserk really is a great manga. Maybe it's somewhat overrated but I think it mostly deserves it's status. This doenst feel controversial but Its become cool to hate on Berserk lately.
Goes along with this. Reddit likes Berserk and JoJo. They're still great manga.

I think the biggest problem with reddit is straight up hiding or burying unfavorable opinions with downvotes.

Lmfao. Kys bitch i never see it talked ab

Kill yourself, redditor.

This place isn't exactly Plato's Academy, though. Sure posts aren't hidden, but anyone not sharing the opinion of the Zig Forums just gets treated to enlightened discussion like being called a dumb faggot or just ignored.

Acting like it's any better here like this is exactly what I mean. I'd say it's arguably worse here, despite the reddit post hiding, because of the culture of intentional shitposting and trolling that invariably destroys most discussions.

That's a valid point. Here is a more chaotic censorship based around community norms
being treated as superior to outside opinions

A series doesn't have to be groundbreaking or even trying anything new to be good, it just has to be good. A show that uses the same tired old trope or scenarios but in a fun or interesting way is perfectly fine. I see too many people shitting on something because it's doing things some other series has done, but so what? If it's good it's good.

I kind of feel that way about kimetsu no yaiba. Thematically really nothing new or inventive but it's a fun story to read and the anime is well executed

Death Note was never that great.

PunPun made me more angry than sad. I was screaming in my mind for this little shit to get it together.

I love Hepatica and this absolute mess of a teacher so much.

I've always really liked Sanbe Kei's manga; Erased, Cradle of Monsters, Hoozuki no Shima. He's got a good style, in both art and writing. A shame he's only remembered on Zig Forums for the meme scene, which I absolutely dreaded and knew it was going to fucking happen.

Steins;Gate, Code Geass and Spice & Wolf aren't just inferior to Girls und Panzer, they're not even in the same ballpark.

I love Yotsuba& to bits, but I'd still prefer Hakumei to Mikochi over it. Aria on the other hand, despite being the OG and pretty much the same is somehow more boring than the former. It's far less fun than I first remember it, which saddens me.

Of all the memes Zig Forums has repeatedly run into the ground, Chaika is the only one that still brings a smile to my face.

For as much as the canon castration in Ah! My Goddess! is joked about and ragged on, it always seems blown well out of proportion. Belldandy's also still very cute despite the ending. That scene early on in the 2005 series of the two of them spending the night in the car always stands out to me.

My man.

Domekano had a beutiful ending about sisterly love. And yes the bastard child is necessary to show the magnitude of the sacrifice and people keep forgetting that it's a tragic ending because of the 5 year coma.

>Steins;Gate, Code Geass and Spice & Wolf aren't just inferior to Girls und Panzer, they're not even in the same ballpark.

I'm having a hard time understanding this one because those shows aren't alike at all, so the comparison doesn't make any sense.

I just picked an assortment of three relatively well-beloved series here on Zig Forums.

>Steins;Gate, Code Geass and Spice & Wolf aren't just inferior to Girls und Panzer, they're not even in the same ballpark.

I agree not in the same ball park. Nothing alike really. Spice & Wolf in particular seems out place. Also I like all three of these better than girls und panzer even though code geass's art throws me.

I don't know and don't care about what you fags' prevalent opinions are and never will, so I wouldn't know what to post
Fuck your echo chambers and caring about le ebin fandom opinions

Okay, but since the shows aren't alike it doesn't work. Inferior in what way? They're all so different and doing different things that there's not a meaningful comparison to be made beyond you saying you just personally like that one show more.

Nvm. Someone beat me to it. My b.

What anime do you like?

Great post!

Fair point. I guess it's more of a pointless opinion than a forbidden one.

Lots. I mostly read manga. I just felt like Death Note lost all of its charm agter L died and Light was too try-hard and edgy for my taste. I think the mind games in Code Geass or Monster scratch the 4-d chess itch better for me.

the biggest problem with anime discussion on reddit is that their taste is super basic. Obviously there's plenty of shows which all subsections of weebs enjoy/dislike, but disversity of thought is sooo much broader on a than it is on places like r/anime. Not just what they think about certain anime but also which anime get discussed. Specific fandoms just fuck off to their own subreddit and so there's way less cross-pollination between fans of different shows. Anything that's not super mainstream or currently airing just doesn't get any discussion in more general anime subreddits.

you're not wrong but you also have to consider that Zig Forums is really unwelcoming to people who obviously haven't watched much anime. Reddit is the opposite and while that does have it's upsides for newcomers it also drags the level discussion down. Simply because the participants on average have less experience with anime. I'll give you that reddit may have more really high-quality posts (like that engineering paper on the aerodynamics of big anime tiddes) but the gerenal discussion is of much lower quality and less fun too.

I kind of agree with this. Read the manga long after it came out and it was...okay. Good for the most part, but I think it was sold to me as a real cat-and-mouse thinking game where everyone is smart and makes logical moves, and it was so full of ass-pulls and impossible leaps of logic and random shit like that fucking rocket thing that it didn't land for me.

This. Reddit is designed to promote popular opinions, circlejerking, and attentionfagging. Granted, we get some of that here as well, but the chaotic nature of this site gives all opinions an even playing field, bait posts and (You) fishing are frowned upon, and tripfags are (generally) ridiculed.

Liar Game is my favorite manga in the vein of mental game or psychological warfare

Kokoro Connect is the low standard of SoL anime, on top of adding fantasy nonsense as a plot device to incite badly written drama with characters we barely care about, since we know little to nothing about them besides Inaba or whatever her name is.
Koe no Katachi is a steaming pile of rubbish.
Dragon Ball Z is actually shit and we only like because it is nostalgic (me included)
One Piece is purely commercial and has little to no artistic value.
Gintama is for retarded North Americans who enjoy toilet humor

shut up faggot

You can return to your cyber-shithole now

See and , though.

A far more valid criticism of Reddit is that it's either normalfaggot central or literal generals with no in-between, as points out
