Be 21

>be 21
>no longer fancy anime
is this normal?
I'm forcing myself to watch violet evergarden rn and it's so dull and trite. I get the powerful appeal of the animation, but if spectacle alone is its most vital element then it's ultimately just meaningless cheap amusement.

>I'm forcing myself
It's not a hobby if it's a chore.

It is perfectly normal. When I was like 17 I could just watch anything and find it entertaining. Now My drop list grows more and more because my taste has refined, so a show really needs to reel me in to get me to finish it.

>I'm forcing myself to watch
Just stop and watch something else at this point dummy

Yeah, anime isn't a hobby.

>isn't a hobby
an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure.

>I get the powerful appeal of the animation, but if spectacle alone is its most vital element then it's ultimately just meaningless cheap amusement.
Did you started watching anime because you wanted complexity and deepness?

its time to broaden your horizons. read books. watch movies. listen to radio plays. older anime and manga. examine the classics and think about what made them classics and where there influence can be seen today.

>violet evergarden
Well there's your problem user.

Same here also add manga to that too. Haven’t read some manga in year now

stick to love live kid

My taste and preference has always been specific since i was a child so i'm sorry for not understanding your problem user

I stopped watching anime at 20. Now i just read manga

Everyone grows out of anime one day.

Looks like you're a problem too.
VE is one of the few shows that I didn't drop in this garbage medium.

Leave while you still can op. You can still live a normal life.
This place is a part of a bad cycle of depression and masturbation.

not really
Meritoriousanime doesn't require complexity or deepness to be excellent

k-on is vapid trash

Just remember, there is no such a thing as soft seinen, only full seinen and not seinen

its time to watch shows for little girls

That sounds more like a you issue. Sorry to hear though.

I dunno is not fancying anime at your age is normal since I'm well past that and still love it. But I can tell you that your opinion of Violet Evergarden is certainly normal.

Holy shit, 21?? You must be really mature now. You should immediately stop watching anime and start watching educational programs and documentaries.

I stopped trying to keep up with a dozen different seasonal anime in my early twenties. That quickly changed to something between 0-a few per season, and has been that way for 8, or so years now.
The few that I still watch usually comes down to whether I tihnk that girls are cute. I won't apologise for that either.

I think 80% of Anime and manga I watched/read I did so as a teenager
Even now there's several series on my 'to watch' list I just can't be bothered starting

>under 25
Out.

I went through a long hiatus when I was in my early 20's in which I would only watch my fav shows which lasted about 6 years. Now I just enjoy the odd show that peaks my interest. Burnout does happen just give it time and you'll eventually comeback or you won't. Don't force yourself to watch if you don't want to.

>21
>can't into hipster

Time to sudoku, Op

>violet evergarden
>dull and trite

So? It is pretty obvious it is boring,
Watch something better.

I don't want to grow up... I wish I was 15 again

There have been a few times in my life where I stopped watching anime/reading manga for a while but if you ever did like it chances are you'll want to come back to it at some point. Just do something else for a while like others have been saying.
