Now that the current season is almost over, lets have a retrospective look back over the best and worst anime of summer 2020.

What shows did you watch?

What shows did you drop?

In a very summer fashion, i was disappointed by the big titles re:zero & oregairu, while the teibous, deca-dence and kanokari were surprisingly good rides

>hidden gem
No. Massively overrated here and the most disappointing anime of the season.

That smile is a pleasant one.

It's not like I even expected much. I have other things to do and older shows to watch.

Is Deca-dence actually good or is it just waifufags propping it up

It's a generic Kabaneri rip-off.

Deca-Flop isn't good, the characters are bland especially Matsushita. Her motive to join The Power is to fight the Gadoll, cue her self-realization episode and she suddenly says it was to be more confident in herself?

>Deca-Dence
Enjoyed, but story progression and character development feels really rushed. Tentative interest in more content, assuming they can wrap this season up without being written into a corner.
>Railgun T
Big improvement over the first two seasons, which both bored the shit out of me (aside from the Sisters arc). Still having problems with me believing in the setting since they seem to blow up half the city every night without anyone noticing.
>God of Highschool
Bretty good action scenes but the powercreep is starting to show. I don't expect that I'd enjoy a S2.
>Yahari Ore S3
While I appreciate all the screen time that Best Girl is getting, I think it's bad for the story considering that we know she loses. I don't see how they can pull off a satisfying ending at this point with only two episodes left. Worse than the first or second season.
>Re:ZERO
Subaru feels more retarded than he did in the first season. Emilia is an empty husk of a character and can't shoulder the burden of romantic tension that we're supposed to believe exists.
>Uzaki
I'm not super into it (though I don't hate it either), but after reading the manga it seems like a good, faithful adaptation - barring the tourism advertisements. Mostly a filler anime I watch when I'm bored.
>Kanojo
I was somewhat interested around episode six so I dropped the show to read the manga. The MC only become more insufferable, to the point where it feels like he's regressed as a person. I still want to see the ending, but I also hate it.
>Lapis
Dropped after three episodes. Just didn't hook me, though I can appreciate that other anons seem to really like it.

Doubling down on this. Kino-dence is fuckin awesome. Not to mention the fuckin mini hippo thing has an animated asshole sooooo

It starts off with a really generic premise but quickly turns it on its head. It's quite interesting and unique but the execution could have been much better.

Only watching deca-dance and that fishing anime. I think that out of those 2 hougakou teibou nisshi is much better. Honestly, fishing works surprising well as a main theme, since it combines so naturally with cooking.

Does that fishing anime have an overarching plot for the season? I'm not into cute girls doing cute things by itself, I need some broad goal to get into (like the tanking competition in Girls und Panzer).

>Does that fishing anime have an overarching plot
No. They fish something, they eat what they fished, repeat next episode with different species and maybe different fishing method. It's educational, I guess.

>calling something a kabaneri rip-off

Imagine the smell.

Gibiate is unanimously the worst show of the season. Heck, its already the worst of the century.

>Pic related; hidden gem of the season
Yeah, no.

I really hope that we will see more kabu's caramel boi avatar in these last episodes, I mean the first is dead, but I feel there should a more important meaning for his second body too, it should get more focus

It’s Attack on Titan for children.
>B- But at least it has a cute waifu!
Irrelevant.

It deserve a medal then!

I liked Peter Grill and Re: Zero

Just wanna say that Super HxEros is quite possibly the stupidest series if the entire season.
I’m a coomer though, so I like it.

Hm, my favourites have been Teibou, Peter Grill and Uzaki-chan.

Enen no Shouboutai S2 has been utterly boring. But otherwise most of the other stuff I'm watching is alright.

No it’s soulless as fuck. Shit all around AND completely lacks appeal.

killing pipe made the show go from a 10 to a 1
it's a drop from me

everyone I can't carry this thread on my own! lend me your power!

WotY unanimously goes to abby

It's really good. And I am not a waifu fag at all, I just want to see MC pregnant.

But Kubaneri sucked and I dropped it while I always look forward to Wednesday episode of Deca-dence. Lots of idiots and speed watchers got filtered. It's a fun ride. I wonder if it's a generation thing with zoomers not going for it but boomers in their 30s that do.

Gave first episode a look anyway.
At 16 minutes in, I could tell that I just wasn't into it.
Four minutes later, I was really into it. Gonna keep watching.
Thank you for bringing this show to my attention.

> t. filtered speedwatcher

>waifufags

the real twist was tricking them when Kaburagi was the real protagonist
