Objectively speaking the mysteries in Conan are more varied and cleverer. I'm not a great Conan fan but it's better written.

I generally wasn't invested in what I saw of Kindaichi but maybe I was just having a shit day. I'll probably end up trying again in the future.
Also, as an aside. I imagine this trend will immediately die out if this release doesn't fix the like, 3 problems I remember the leak version having. It's surprising enough people are coming back for a second round after being fully aware of how shit the new one is with the first release in July, but if they don't fix the mistakes in this one people will probably move on pretty fast.

They spent too much time re-releasing episodes with degrading results over and over and eventually stopped with Movie 6 in 2010. A new dubbing company and new distributor has been working on the most recent movies going backwards. Zero the Enforcer and Crimson Love Letter were screened at anime cons late last year. It's full of overly literal translations and voices that don't fit the characters. Enforcer is the second release, Episode ONE was released to sort of reboot the anime franchise with original character names even though the manga uses the main group name changes to this day. It's one of the worst modern dubs not including ones that force in politics for attention.
I only buy them because they have japanese audio and english subtitles options and people's inability to switch audio channels was partially what killed the series for 10 years in the first place. Although like I said the Funi DVDs continuously got worse quality so even purists had a hard time watching with out of sync audio.
