Seriously, the beginning of the show made me really mad for Ohana's sake. Her shitty mom ditches her to run away with a deadbeat boyfriend, and kicks her out of her apartment. Sends her to her Grandma's Inn where she was under the impression that she would be able to stay there temporarily until she found somewhere to live/work. Has no say in the matter, no agency over herself, and has to deal with the revelation that she's now an employee without consent.

On top of that, everyone is rude to her for no good reason. She didn't do anything wrong outside of having a naive outlook on what working looked like. But everyone seems to hate her on Day 1.

At my last job we had maybe 10-15 new guys a year, a good amount of people cycling through. We knew our new guys didn't know shit about fuck, and our new guys knew that they didn't know fuck about shit. We gave them a hard time, as you're supposed to, to get them used to following orders and just doing what the fuck your superiors tell you to do. We never expected them to know every detail about our work center, or how to accomplish any of our tasks, because they were young and green. So while we put pressure on them to get them to learn about our system, mistakes made from ignorance were expected and understandable. Loudly correct them, show them the results of what that fuck up looks like, and make sure they know how to not do it again.

In Hansaku Iroha, all they do is yell at or slap Ohana for making very minor and understandable mistakes born from ignorance. She's 16 and useless, being bad at her job should not be a surprise to anyone. They rarely ever teach her how to do her job, they never show her how to avoid mistakes, they don't give a single shit about her and yet expect her to know what she's doing.

That's not even mentioning Episode 3 when Pervert Failure NEET fucker writes ero novels featuring her and her coworkers (all who happen to be minors, as well), kidnaps her into his room, ties her up in bondage against her will, beats off to it later, and then gets away with it without any punishment. They fucking play it off as a joke. Then they HIRE HIM to pay off his debt so he can continue to sexually assault all of the waitresses for the lulz. Shit, he doesn't even do anything important for the plot after that, he's just in the background as a 'comic relief' with no relevance to the plot. Diving chick should have let him drown after he jumped off the cliff.

She eventually gets everyone to warm up to her, starts to fitting into the flow of the workplace, and everyone accepts her, happily ever after. They don't deserve her acceptance. They didn't do anything to apologize for the abuse earlier, they just made her put up with it and accept it as "oh that's just how it is".

They're all shitty employees and managers - excluding the shy waitress, she was in a similar position - Especially the Landlady/Grandma. Cruel hag all but denies her family at every stage in life while they just wanted her to be a mom and raise them like a normal human should. But nope, "The customers first" every time. Customers don't fucking remember employees at inns and restaurants, why put your family on the backburner for the sake of strangers who you'll only know for 3 days at most? Ohana's mom was right to escape that life, but couldn't overcome her own shitty tendencies. Ohana's uncle was just a spineless pussy and bent to the will of whoever was the last woman to slap him that day.

Anyway, enough rageposting. She's a cute girl who deserved better than the steaming plate of shit handed to her by her family. Her only crime is being young and naive, too optimistic, and being bad at reading people.

Didn't deserve the abuse, shouldn't have forgiven any of the adults abusing her, should have ran away with Kou to Tokyo and escaped that life.

Ah, I almost forgot to mention how in Episode 3, pervert NEET fucker tries to rape her after being tied up, so he could clear his writer's block. It's implied that Grandma knew about this, but didn't want to disturb any customers (including rapist customer) so she just sat by for a couple hours and let it happen while her granddaughter was in the hands of an Zig Forums browser.

And then she hires him and plays it off as a joke. I was hoping by the end of the episode that Granny would smack the fuck out of NEETfag but she doesn't, she treats him better than her fucking children. Ridiculous
