It's already September. That means it's almost time for the Amagami rewatch on Christmas!

Damn, this year has passed very quickly, hasn't it?

Bump.

redpill me on this show I have nothing to watch now

One of the best romance anime ever made, and arguably the best visual novel adaptation ever. Great girls and a good protagonist, who isn't spineless.
It's simply an extremely well made romance series. It follows an omnibus format, so each girl has their arc. Amagami should be on the dictionary as a definition of comfy.

>protagonist, who isn't spineless
how the hell am I supposed to relate to that

>xmas rewatch
>"best romance ever"
>not Toradora
Pffffffff

He's also a bit of a pervert, but the lovable kind. Maybe you can relate to that?
Plebeian.

It's the ultimate ideal of teenage romance. It's really heartwarming seeing the beauty of love that's right around the corner. All of the girls are quirky, but ultimately normal people that are living their lives and doing their best. The MC doesn't become a messiah to win their affection, but develops a relationship with them to help bear their burdens. They can get along fine without him, but life is made all the more beautiful with love. It's a 9/10 anime that's not a 10 only because Hibiki arc never ever.

I rewatched both Amagami and Toradora again and Amagami held up far better. Maybe if best girl Ami was the main girl it would have been more interesting, but Taiga's romance was too melodramatic for my taste. At least Toradora is head and shoulders above that trash Amagami spinoff.

>pervert
ok I like where this is going
>lovable
crap, I can't watch this

You described it perfectly, user. I wonder if me and other anons are so attached to it because we never had that teenage love experience... maybe even the staff of the anime/game didn't. It's a perfect idealized romance, the beautiful and pure kind of love.
Amagami's a 10/10 for me.

SOUL

No need to be like that, user. Go for it.

>Damn, this year has passed very quickly, hasn't it?
no it hasn't

yes it has

I don't think I will win the amagami challenge this year... Can't even have a date with all that shit going on, how are you supposed to get a gf if you can't even meet a girl?

I fucking love Hibiki

It's okay, I'm sure Jun'ichi forgives you. This was an atypical year after all, and online dating is the opposite of Amagami's romance.

>online dating is the opposite of Amagami's romance
it's so weird, never even thought about the year it takes place in during my first watch.

I mean it both in practical terms such as the year the anime takes place, and as a "feel" thing. Online dating is completely different than the organic romance that happens in Amagami.
On another note, what did you guys think about +Plus, Amagami's sequel? Do you include it in your yearly rewatch?

Not him, but Plus is a necessary addition to an Amagami rewatch for me. I alternate between complete renditions of each heroine's arc with SS and plus and doing a complete run of SS and then moving on to Plus.

>how the hell am I supposed to relate to that
Do the bench challenge. You can relate to his struggles by struggling yourself to get a Christmas Eve date, and if you fail you have to sit on the bench and tell Zig Forums about it.

Plus is anime original, isn't it? I know some people don't like it as much as SS, but I though it was great too.

vn fucking when?

>Amagami - "Script translation done. 2107/2329 original edition scenario scripts edited (90.5%)"
From the vnts thread on /jp/. They are working at a snails pace, I don't even remember when the game went into editing phase. Feels so long ago.

At this point I think I'll be reading it in Japanese before the translation releases. And I didn't even try to learn the fucking language.

>roastiecucks using an excuse to post their garbage

?

He’s taking about the other series, common mistake.

>it's still not fucking done
JESUS CHRIST WHAT MORE DO THEY NEED???

I got hit with a sudden wave of nostalgia, and started rewatching amagami about a week ago, and just finished Rihoko's arc in SS. The whole show so far has been even better than I remembered it. Even arcs that I considered good, but lower points with in the show have been incredible this time around. Might have to rewatch it again come this December too.

>tfw when I've won the Amagami challenge two years in a row and come June 12th, I'll win it every Christmas till I die. Can't say that I've missed the bench, but I've enjoyed the many threads with all of you.

all the girls on the right are hotter than all the girls on the left

>tfw never won the amagami challenge
M-maybe 2021 is my lucky year, r-right?
I guess this is a bit controversial, but for me Amagami is simply the best romance anime ever made. And like you've said, it is even better when you rewatch it.
However, I think it's pretty sad how Seiren couldn't live up to it, and crashed so hard on the last five minutes of the first arc that half the show was cancelled.

I remember watching that trainwreck. I got past the first arc and dropped after the first episode of the second. I still lurked on some of the threads, but was disappointed to find out that they even had the protagonists friend back stab him or some shit like that. I always liked Umehara so it was just such a let down.
