The rushing of story e.g. blitzing through Aki's death, killing off of almost all loved characters has made the story much duller. The fact Denji has declined as a character since the assassin arc (some nice bits with aki though).

Basically, the characters that made the series enjoyable are gone and Fuji is doing the same thing as he did with fire punch; rush the fuck out of it and lose coherence in process.

The new Chainsaw design looks like nothing. I'm having trouble even understanding where its leg ends and its foot begin.It looks like absolutely nothing visually.What the hell is even going on near its belly?
Devils designs started out as strongly tied to the concept they embodied the fear of but now looks like generic monsters. Only the one at the forefront can be assumed to be Wolf Devil. The others have completely unrecognizables looks.
Panelling doesn't make sense. From Makima's voice we can tell the second and third panels are a few seconds apart, so why is Denji alone in panel 2 but surrounded on panel 3. How does his guts scarf work too? If he using it as an added weapon? Isn't it something related to Makima's control over him and not something he should use on his own?

They're not designed to be special devils or anything, they're just goon devils to get cut apart by Denji so they don't need special designs

Wow japanese fans are vocal about the new chapter and they are not happy. They're discontented with the way denji's character is going and the whole transformation and random op power where he can manipulate reality. I guess they were holding out hope for a more interesting route where the mc doesn't get a shounen tier powerup and isn't the chosen one. There's even a petition that's garnered thousands of signatures to have the chapter changed. Obviously that wont happen but it shows how unhappy they are.

It was kino all the way up to the end of the international assassins arc, but it was doing pretty poorly in the shonen jump popularity ranking. For some reason the shocking deaths of Power and Aki has made it a little more popular, but I don't think it will last as the character dynamic of the manga is fucked with these important characters removed. I don't know how Fujimoto can un-fuck his manga, but I wish him good luck.

It the opposite. I never gave a fuck about the characters. Seeing as how weird devils, cool paneling, world building, plot and everything else other than characters are still here, the manga is as good as ever.

I agree with you in principle, I've stopped reading it since around the time Aki died. But there's still time to tie it all together.

Fire Punch pulled the rug from underneath several times, similarily to this, and the art has been the same as it always was, in my opinion.
