You know I've seen a lot of people say bleach goes downhill over the years and have only recently got around to reading it myself, I'm around the chapter 230 mark and I've been enjoying it a lot, especially soul society.
Would you say when people go on about bleach getting worse that its a non-debatable decline in quality or an exaggerated one? I'm enjoying it so I kind of hope its exaggerated, it'd be a shame if I end up getting fed up with it. Is there a specific point where people kinda get turned off on it?

It's after the Soul Society Arc that it goes downhill. You still have entertainment and great moments but it's not the same as what made you like bleach in the first place.
It's theorized that the shinigami basically became too popular and got shoved into the plot by editors. The whole manga becomes a different mode of storytelling with the fullbringer arc being an attempt to get back to its roots. This is cut short by readers getting mad at not having their shinigami captains until Jump made Kubo bring them back to abruptly cut everything short and move onto the next arc.

Even though many anons will pretend there is a specific moment of steep decline, there isn't. Bleach is up and down throughout and it also depends on your personal tastes. SS arc was great and some people dislike the HM arc so they say it stopped being good after SS ended. But TYBW peaked even higher than SS, and if the ending wasn't rushed it would be much better received.
