Without confirming your identity. I'd just let my thoughts out. When I'm consuming a visual medium I want the visuals to be umm...good. That doesn't means your work needs to be hyper realistic or detailed. I am a style over details person. For example I really enjoy Matsumoto Taiyou and Shinzou keigo's art. You can get the idea.

For story, I generally prefer shorter works that can clearly portray what they are trying to. Don't go creating twists after twists, you might think you're intelligent about coming up with them but in reality there's a 50% chance readers will dislike them. Have a clear conclusion and don't overstay your welcome. That'd be it. Also no isekai ecchi or harem please...

Zig Forums is a somewhat poor sample due to all the degenerates and mentally handicapped shounen jump fans

Unless some french or italian show their face here; in the case of the USA the majority of americans read more manga than "traditional" comics (wich at this point are mainly superheroes).

Honestly, it's more about how you do it than what you do. Just don't go with the fads and for fuck's sake don't make an unending story, think about the end and don't deus ex machina too much.

The French really have a lot of love for comic books, which is shared across all age groups. Their tastes are quite broad as a result, although from what I've seen they are particularly fond of sci-fi regardless of age group (not mechs though; that's more of an Italy thing).

It's funny, since manga-wise there aren't actually many proper space-faring or even space opera series out there compared to anime. Far fewer than Western comics, at least.
