Why is this show so entertaining?
I've finally watched it after putting it off for years because fuck knows what reasons and ended up binge watching the whole thing in 3 days and holy shit was it fun.
Love the cast, love their interactions, absolutely love the villains , thoroughly enjoyed the Jake arc.
Who would've thought heroes sponsored by big corporations would turn out this fun?
So happy Kotetsu got closer to Kaede by the end.
I remember this show being big on Zig Forums when it aired and man, I feel like I missed out not watching it when it originally aired.
Also how the hell did they manage to make a 35 year old man moe as fuck?
Any T&B bros left here from the original days, what are you expecting for S2? I guess the only good thing to watching this series so late is that I only have to wait 2 years for S2, instead of 11.
Tiger&Bunny
bump,and again,bump
Fun things are fun. I don't know what else they can do with this show to keep it interesting
Glad you had fun, it was a great ride with Zig Forums while it aired, Kotetsu being so well received by everyone was a surprise for the staff as well. The characters are fun and he and Barnaby play off each other really well so even the sol parts are entertaining.
They still have Yuri's issues, Bunny doesn't like people misusing his parents' research, Tiger has to deal with losing more time out of that last minute he has left and Ouroboros will never die is still a plot point along with the media angle of things.
ojisan moe is hard to get right but tiger and bunny did it perfectly
looking forward to seeing the cast again and more of any shady dealings left behind by Maverick
> Kotetsu being so well received by everyone was a surprise for the staff as well
I think I remember reading Sunrise didn't expect this series to blow up and be so popular, was that true?
Ngl Bunny really grew on me by the end.
>shady dealings left behind by Maverick
Not only that but I want to see more of Lunatic. I wonder if the other heroes will ever find out what kind of person Legend became in his late days.
I want to see Pepsi confess and get rejected in the most polite way possible, completely lost it at the book in the last episode.
>was that true?
Yes, it was a passion project by Ozaki, Tamura, Matsui and Satou. They were stubbornly stuck on wanting an older MC when the studio advised and pushed for a younger pair.
Ozaki has said on record that bearded adult males and superhero anime were both consider a dead idea back then.
More Lunatic will definitely happen but I don't think they'll make Pepsi confess, it'd be kinder/easier to get her someone who understands her without embarrassing her or making Tiger look bad or let her grow out of it without putting her with someone else.
Bunny really evolved a lot, it's always fun to see a tsundere thaw out yet keep their "no nonsense'' personality intact along with learning to be more open to others.
I found the antagonists rather underwhelming but overall it was a very fun show. Kotetsu and the ARIGATOU dude were my favourites.
they show wasn't supposed to take off like this, Sunrise was betting on Sacred Seven to be the hit
>I wonder if the other heroes will ever find out what kind of person Legend became in his late days
they might if they dig deeper into Lunatic's plot
>I want to see Pepsi confess and get rejected in the most polite way possible
she's a smart girl, she'll bounce back from it if that happens
funny how the kitty beard is considered iconic now
>I found the antagonists rather underwhelming
They were that way on purpose, the power levels were also kept low to focus on the salary man issues, the staff wanted it to be a personal story.
>Kotetsu and the ARIGATOU dude were my favourites
Well, Zig Forums was GAR for Kotetsu. Keith is too likable, especially after we see how much he cares, the guy deserves to find love.
>They were that way on purpose, the power levels were also kept low to focus on the salary man issues, the staff wanted it to be a personal story.
Oh I get that, I just didn't find them engaging as characters.
>I just didn't find them engaging as characters
Yeah, they aren't anything new or flashy, but they do get interesting when you get into the social aspects of the setting.
That's true. I actually quite like Yuri/Lunatic, but we didn't really get much focus for me to call him an outright antagonist yet.
> Sacred Seven
Wasn't that one really unpopular?
Love to see the underdog come out on top and be a winner.
> They were stubbornly stuck on wanting an older MC when the studio advised and pushed for a younger pair.
absolutely based , in a sea of 15 yr old MCs the T&B duo is a breath of fresh air.
I really loved the salaryman and family issues subplots and was absolutely rooting for Tiger. Man he sure shed a lot of tears during the series didn't he?
Is Sky High canadian? He's such a nice guy but can be so baka (Cis) ,it's amazing.
Yeah, Yuri is more of an anti-hero, Jake had gone outright messed in the head from hearing everyone hate his kind without their even doing anything wrong, Maverick started out wanting to help NEXTs become accepted as normal people but he lost his way badly.
>Wasn't that one really unpopular?
It was.
>Is Sky High canadian?
No, American, he's the "good boy" type like Karina being the girl next-door type and Nathan being the sassy/responsible type. They all have AU versions of countries that they are from. Ivan is Russian, Poalin is Chinese, Antonio is Mexican, Agnes is French, Saitou and Kotetsu are nips and Barnaby is English.
How is Sacred Seven? Saw the OP and some scenes and it gave strong Saint Seiya vibes.
it wasn't bad, kinda made with a check lisk
>hot butler guy
>cute twin girls
>literally me-ish MC
>army of maids, etc
you get the gist of it
Forgot to add here >Man he sure shed a lot of tears during the series didn't he?
I hits harder when you realize his whole life was turned upside down by his power loss.
Quitting his job to be with Kaede made him very happy to be part of her life but she pushed him back out because she saw he still wanted to try his best as long as possible. It's a nice message to send to the older viewers the staff had in mind.
> single father with not so good relationship at the start of the season
Man he really was that depressed even despite being a hero wasn't it? I found him really likable.
Yeah I think the "follow your passion" message really was a cute one and it was well executed.
This series shot straight up to my top 3, can't believe I lived under a rock all this time.
oh the irony
Yeah, staff said he would have been stuck in that depressed state if he hadn't met Barnaby. "Follow you passion" is something adults need to hear more often, especially nip office workers; no one wants to hit the point that they are casually being replaced because they aren't as relevant anymore (so it's time to buy rope and find a nice tree) "you can still do your best" is a very encouraging message and that's why nips adore the series apart from the character drama.
>oh the irony
that's what happens when you try to shove in a lot of trends and it backfires
>this series shot straight up to my top 3
what are the other 2?
bible black and chico to pico
I wanted to know if user liked other similar shows, no need to reply if you don't want to share though
Liked, shared and upvoted.
no need to whine about it either
that's better, thank you
that wasn't whining, that was just a "no pressure" post, what are you so pissed about?
>I feel like I missed out not watching it when it originally aired.
No, you should be glad The threads were full of cancerous hyper autists speculating 2-3 episodes ahead of the aired one because the episode synopsis would get uploaded to the internet in advance or some shit. Also, fujos.
sure
I watched it a long ass time ago but didn't see the movie, just two seasons.
Sky high was the best character.
I can't name a specific order because I love these shows a lot for their own different reason, but Psycho-Pass and Honey & Clover. Also, maybe Ghost in the Shell because I love Cyberpunk. . Shows where the MC actually grows and gets development are my favorites. I can't seem to digest series with a plethora of cliches and generic tropes anymore.
I really hope we'll be getting more shows with MCs that are mid 20s at least.
silly user
close enough guess if you ask me
>speculating 2-3 episodes ahead of the aired one because the episode synopsis would get uploaded to the internet in advance
That was part of the fun, everyone enjoyed making wild guesses, Zig Forums loved speculah.
>Also, fujos.
That's a given when you put a princess carry in the first ep.
>funny how the kitty beard is considered iconic now
