So I watched Laputa: Castle in the Sky last night and you know what I think?
I think Oda took a lot of ideas from it. Dola is Big Mom, old, pink-haired pirate lady with a crew consisting of her family. Laputa itself is Skypiea, a mysterious sky island with wealth unimagined. And on Laputa they find square stones with strange writings, just like the poneglyphs.

At the end of Wano, Luffy will receive a message from one of Shanks' underlings requesting they meet at Elbaf. When Luffy arrives, he will be received warmly but will quickly realize that Shanks seems different. At one point Shanks will tell Luffy that people have been burning his flag and blaming the Strawhats. He will show Luffy a bloodied Bartolomeo in a cell and say, "a filthy fishman at that." Luffy will immediately acknowledge Barto, despite Barto thinking 'save yourself; act like you don't know me!!!' Then Ben Beckman will contact Shanks via transponder snail with the information that there was a fishman (Jimbei) on Luffy's ship. Shanks will look at Luffy with the same eyes he looked at Lor D. of D. Coast.
