I don't get it
CSM
kafkaesque
the next person to say kafkaesque I will visit personally and kill with my bare hands.
In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream.
Have you heard of David Lynch?
Lovecraftian
It's the same autistic shitposter doing it over and over.
>It's just one guy
Kafkaesque
Hell is in space
Orwellian
Shakespearean
It's easier to draw severed space suits than actual bodies, because this way you don't haver to be good at anatomy and perspective.
Lmao, literally this
I'm a fan of his.
regardless of ease to draw, it's pretty obvious Darkness is parading dead astronauts as a warning against wanton adventures into the infinite void
nah, you're just trying to cope.
I admit that it looks cool, but it's also clear as fuck that Fuji just astronauts to make it easier to draw.
if you look at his lesbian color page, you see that he's not good with human anatomy.
Those represent the 11 astronauts that have died in space, it was clearly intentional
I'm not trying to say he's good at anatomy or not. I'm saying the explanation for the page is that darkness takes space exploration as an affront because it's seen as fearlessly venturing into the infinite darkness, the very think he represents. It's like gangs making examples out of the people that insult them - he's reminding humans that the darkness is still his domain, and should be feared
I can't agree with that explanation. I get the connection between the fear of endless Darkness and the endless Darkness of space, but it still doesn't make sense in-universe and for the reader.
That's very Kafkaesque of you
stop spamming threads niggers
>still doesn't make sense in-universe and for the reader
Care to explain?
why:)
Darkness gets power from fear of the unkown. Space is the great unknown. Dead astronauts represent his dominion over the unkown. It makes sense user. read the Darkness fight again. Notice anything?
19 astronauts have died in space
extremely Kafkaesque, and dare i say it, somewhat Lynchian
It's a noun
have they died in space or on their way there?
>Darkness gets power from fear of the unkown. Space is the great unknown. Dead astronauts represent his dominion over the unkown
That would work in a 50s/60s setting, but in the 90's space was barely a relevant topic, especially not a fear.
Again, i'm not trying to shitpost here, but i 100% believe Fujimoto came up with that scenery even before writing CSM and then used it for Darkness' introduction. Most mangaka do something like this, so it isn't even a baseless accusation.
Again, Darkness isn't the Space devil, he's the darkness devil. It's not that people are "fearing" space, it's that space represents his territory. Darkness devil reigns over the infinite darkness in space, and yet Astronauts represent humanities will to push forwards into the unknown. Astronauts willingly enter the darkness unafraid, and Darkness Devil is there to remind them that they very much should still be afraid. And Fuji having that image in mind doesn't change the fact that it has a clear meaning. I'm sure he came up with the image because he thought it looked cool, but it also very obviously relates to the narrative
It also is a good metaphor for entering Hell in a way. I like that Hell in CSM isn't just a burning pit, closer to just an incomprehensible dimension for humans.
