Why haven't you taken the reading pill yet?

Most LNs are shit web-novel tier garbage, onlt by adding voice acting and animation do they become bearable

Because I'm an American. Dubs > subs and you know it's true. Besides I'm not reading some comic book backwards.

Manga? Sure. Visual novels? Maybe
Light novels? Nope. They're one of the lowest forms of entertainment ever created by human hands along with webcomics and political cartoons.

I really don't like descriptive text. I know that it's part of the medium and necessary, but I really feel frustrated reading through setting detail because in visual medium, I see that shit in a second.

Maybe for manga and VNs but

not really, descriptions are better than 0 effort animation

I've been a LN/WN chad for 5-6 years now and yes やっとできた

How long did it take?

Saw this in a book store I occasionally visit and picked it up, what am I in for?

I barely even watch anime anymore. Manga is truly the superior medium of the two. I dunno about LN's though it's kinda 50/50

basically 4 years to barely read without looking stuff up all the time

I already have.

Recommend me a romance written from the perspective of a male, which doesn't drag for too long and instead has the pair get together within 3 volumes. The less haremettes the better.
Obviously doesn't have to be translated.

It took me roughly a year to get to the point where I could understand your average shonen anime or read a manga without having to look up stuff all the time.

>Hellsing
>CG
>Majin Tensei
>Berserk
>evangelion anthology
>parasite eve
>street fighter
Based oldfag.
You don't seem to be interested in the newer stuff tho right?

Imo it really depends on how dedicated you are.

I get distracted and come here.

I've taken the fanfiction pill, thank you very much.

Yeah, I definitely don't consume as much animu as I did ten years ago, so my collection reflects that. Most of these stories are ultimately formulaic, so at some point everything feels like it's just a rehash of something you already read or watched.

I also don't really play video games anymore other than DDR/StepMania and puzzle games.

But about once every two years or so there's a newer series that does catch my attention because it does something unique that is relevant to my interests, like WataMote, Goblin Slayer and now Asper Kanojo.

well I'm very antisemitic, so I absolutely cannot stand watching Judaized "western" media, which basically leaves only manga, old novels and nazi podcasts as the only viable entertainment media.

and was it worth it?

oh hey, Kyogoku

>learning Japanese because you're a nazi
lmao

and it doesn't happen with watching?

Yea you have some relatively new stuff too like Ariadne I thought that series was way older.
That's good at least you're "normal" as I'm mostly into narou and LNs.

lol
well understandable at least since it was your only source of entertainment so you went all in with cramming

If you're gonna take the reading pill, why read LNs and VNs instead of going all the way and taking the /lit/ pill? Start with the Greeks.

because animation look nice

Yeah, I'd say so. Perhaps I could've spent the time more productively, but on the other hand I could've done way worse.
Getting acquainted with such a different culture really expanded my horizons,
I met my girlfriend because she was a weeb who was fascinated with my knowledge of Japanese,
people regularly assume that I'm some sort of genius when they see me reading a book with Asian stuff scribbled all over it,
and of course when you're interested in history, then every language you know opens up a treasure trove of historical documents that you can now peruse.

>why read LNs and VNs instead of going all the way and taking the /lit/ pill?
op here
because i'm a fucking weeb

>cannot stand watching Judaized "western" media
same, the hamfisted ideological taint in all western media is unbearable at this point

Yes but not as much.
