Haruyuki's the biggest filter for getting into the series but even then he's still a good MC once you give him a chance. I like him mainly because he's the underdog character in the purest sense, and his genuine awkwardness is kinda exhaustive but also endearing.

The MC is THE WORST part of the whole show. Nothing can compare. The first time I watched it, I wanted the bullies to beat him bloody or just outright murder him. I've never hated a character so much before. God he's pathetic - and gets everything served to him on a silver fucking platter while still complaining.

Accel World is very interesting because it has a retarded premise but the arcs and characters are very interesting, whereas SAO had a much better premise that ended up being shit through and through
Noumi was fucking based as a villain even though his personality is straight out of NTR doujins. It's great to see the cast going through actual hardships and getting their shit handed to them
