MASION IKKOKU STORYTIME

With a brand new english release in the correct right to left format for the first time, I thought it would be a good time to share with you Rumiko Takahashi's (of Ranma/Inuyashi/Urusei Yatsura/etc. fame) romantic comedy about a guy who falls in love with the manager of the boarding house he lives in, Maison Ikkoku! Imo it's her best work, so let's get into it!

This is really a romcom belonging to another era. It's very difficult to appreciate the dynamics of the relationship between the main character and the one he pursues with modern values. No one is manipulated or taken advantage of, but it still comes off as uncomfortable.

When I originally read/watched I remember thinking the neighbor's intrusions annoying/dickish but upon reread I find it much more humorous now.
