How much self-hatred and sadomasochism is required for one to sit through the first season to get to "the good part"?
The first 9 episodes(really felt like 15) are some of the worst forms of torture I've ever been to

I think it builds up in orderly fashion, S1 has definitely more filler episodes and whatever stories, but none of them are outright bad, your brain is just overdosed on the high octane storytelling that is so fast your brain doesn't even catch that what you actually watch is shit regardless of the pace it's going at.
What? The first season is the good part. I mean, I don't think there's a bad part besides the recurring villain fights. The appeal of the show is the ensemble cast of high schoolers and the development of their character, emotions, and their relationships with each other and the teacher. If you're not enjoying their antics or Nagisa's pathology, you should just drop the show, because whatever violence you're looking forward to will not "make up" for the rest.
Filler? More like Filtered.
Episode 9 is literally about a robot moe
Yes, I have dropped it, it's fucking horrible
You're right user, it's really bad. It's not particularly fun, suffers from a big cast of paper-thin nobodies and it's fans are underage third worlders who shill it because WSJ. Watch Saiki if you want the comedy AssClass is desperately reaching for or read something like SpyxFamily.
Even knowing they wouldn't kill him on the first episodes I expected at least decent character development and engaging arcs, what I got was retarded characters being introduced every week to make Koro-Sensei look cool
I enjoyed the first season. I actually think it peaked in the beginning episodes and the ending was the worst part for me. it was fun seeing the alien teacher interact with his class
When I first heard about a series that is about a class of assassins at school. I was expecting something a little more Naruto-ey.
They hated him because he was telling the truth.
The awful bit about it was the constant
>character gets introduced
>character is irrelevant for the next 10 episodes
A smaller number of classmates would've improved that character issue easily.
>AssClass
>torture
I don't even want to know what kind of shit you've been watching
This. I was at least expecting cool ploys and tricks to assassinate Korosensei, but there's nothing. It's a really basic, hollow series.
>expecting something a little more Naruto-ey
There's your problem.
Agree, it's an overcrowded mess, when I saw the ROBOT moe debut I gave up entirely.
There's literally only 5 characters that get introduced though
And what about the already existing irrelevant classmates? The additions just inflated the problem
if you didn't enjoy the first season, you won't get more than a milquetoast enjoyment from the rest. just drop it
Overrated shit doesn't get good because it was never good
Not too far off of an assumption at a first glance considering there are so many series that run with the school for something fantasy like. Witch school, superhero school, ninja school, magic brawl school, samurai school..... Assassin school seems like a logical conclusion.
The classmates get their own chapters afterwards though. There's maybe only 3~4 characters that are thrown into the background after getting a single chapter starring them, but most of them appear randomly and say shit
Agreed, learned the hard way
>they get their one-off chapters
>but most of them appear randomly and say shit
That's the problem. They don't feel like proper characters but a cluster put together to say their cued lines. Only a handful of the classmates were handled properly.
I suppose you also think Macross 7 is bad
Nu-Zig Forumsdditors don't know what Macross is.
They get actual character development apart from those 4 students that I've mentioned
Here is, in my opinion, the only students that barely received any screen time and development
1 gets a short arc that's honestly not that memorable and gets barely any screentime
2's entire gimmick is that he's a forgettable background character, so this one shouldn't really count
3 does almost nothing
4,5 and 6 suffer from being Terasaka's henchmen and so, they all share similar character development. 6 is still a memorable character despite that due to some random funny appearances
7's entire gimmick is that he's an artist. Overall a boring character
Considering the size of the cast, the amount of worthwhile characters is pretty good.
Is it that hard to admit Ass Class is Episodic SoL trash misguided as shounen?
You mean Robotech?
It doesn't get better. Drop it now.
I'm not joking. It's shit.
Don't worry, after the robot moe episode I knew it wasn't worth it
Do they ever kill the teacher?
>as shonen
lurk more
it's literally the only shounen jump manga of the last decade to start good and finish great. you legitimately have poor taste.
>start good
opinion overruled
give the names of classmates you can remember
Karma, Kaede, and the naruto guy
better than anything else in that shitty magazine yeah. get over it.
Lol robot moe
The main 3 and JUSTICE. All in all really forgettable characters, I think I know them better by the nicknames they were given in that one episode
It was ok, above average even.
