Have you become literate yet? Spoilers below because I want to talk about Volume 9 of the LN.
I didn't really like how Myne was the adult in the room throughout this volume. Everyone just listens to the 5 year old looking 8 year old as if she has valid advice to give to archdukes and Ferdinand. It's kind of silly to have her show off to Wilfried's tutors like that, too.
>Have you become literate yet? I'm getting better. I'm getting much faster at reading the raws with kanjitomo and find myself remembering the kanji getting used over and over again a lot easier. It reminds me of chemistry class where eventually you just remember the periodic table from using it so much without having to actively memorize it. It's pretty great. I'm probably going to finish volume 10 before it starts getting translated so that's great.
thats awesome user. If I may ask how long have you been working at it?

I mean they gave her adult responsibilities so the least they can do is treat her like one. It would suck big time slaving like an adult but with no power like a kid.

On and off since spring. I got really rusty after not using my moonrunes for years but I still knew a lot of the grammar and everything from studying japanese in uni. I read a few chapters of 8 before the volume got released and my understanding was pretty good compared to the final translation, just slow. Then on the last untranslated bits of 9 I read while also writing down kanji I had to look up, but for 10 I said fuck it and just relied more heavily on kanjitomo which sped things up and I think actually helped me retain the kanji better. I'll be fucked if I can write any of the kanji but it's good enough to remember them.
Years and years ago I polished up my japanese by spending a year playing nukige for hours every day with chiitrans running. So I had a pretty solid base but I'd say if you understand the grammar already, you can brute force through Honzuki with just kanjitomo for OCR recognition of kanji you don't know.
They didn't really give her the responsibilities though, Sylvester thought Myne was having Ferdinand do all the actual High Bishop stuff and that she was just working on her hobby of spreading printing. He had no real idea how much she was doing on her own. But she just comes out and wows everyone by telling them their shit is fucked up because... apparently nobody in the royal castle understands how to raise children and the one person who does, Rihyarda, just didn't notice that Wilfried is an ignorant jackass. I just don't think it was well written and was kind of overhyping Myne.
Wasn't the root of the problem the head attendant falsifying reports or not veryfying the mentors false reports? I'm surprised he still has his head, even more surprised he still has the same job. He lied to the Archduke for 2 years and has basically put the dutchy at risk by sabotaging the successor.
Evan Morgan
I think that's a minor part of it, the larger part as it's written seems to be that Syl didn't think it was a big deal if Wilfried blew off his lessons because Syl did that as a child, and Karstedt ignored Lamprecht's reports of this because he remembered having to chase after Syl too. What wasn't being communicated was that Wilfried really was managing to avoid all studying by being a jackass, and none of his tutors were willing to hold him accountable since he was guaranteed to be Archduke seemingly no matter what. Syl is also shown in the volume to be the type of guy who pushes off lots of his work onto other people, like Ferdinand, which is the root of most of the problems Myne miraculously fixes in like one day in the castle.
One of the parts of 10 I'm most interested in is Wilfried's music he has to play at the winter debut. I think that's when we'll get to see if there's going to be a lasting change in Syl's attitude, and I'm hoping to see Myne fuck up a bit. I know this is Myne's ascendance story but she rose a little too fast last volume for my taste.
After watching the animu, this series got me to pick up the LNs. Now I'm actually considering learning moonrunes just so I don't have to wait for translations and so can tread these threads without fear of spoilers (you guys mostly do a good job on that, but goddamnit I'm invested in this series). I don't even like books really. What has the bookloli done to me?
>It would suck big time slaving like an adult but with no power like a kid. So basically being an intern?

The effort it takes to mentally convert moonrunes into quof's style is basically the same as the (MTL?) WN. Just suffer and enjoy the quality. It seems like an eternity, but the turnover for the series is lightning fast.

Why are people such babies about "spoilers"? Even the word pisses me off. How does learning about a story spoil it? Have you never reread something in your entire life? I can't tell if everyone else is just being autistic or it's just me, again.
Nolan Taylor
It's like how being told the answer to a puzzle prevents you from solving it yourself. The story is still enjoyable even if you know everything, but the initial enjoyment is reduced. To put it another way, there is a reason why you read from beginning to end instead of reading the chapters in reverse order.
Nathaniel Foster
But in this case anons were spoiling wrong. Blanket spoilers are almost as bad as no spoilers. What should be done is spoiler the plot-relevant details so that people can decide if they want to know or not.
Christopher Perry
How do non-giebe nobles make money? All wealth flows from food/energy and time (scarcity), but nobles aren't craftsmen and only the priests obtain food. Was it supposed to be implied that the majority of the tithe goes to the archduke and flows downward? Do taxes exist in the world outside of agricultural tithes?
Sounds like autism to me. You could easily argue a spoiled story is more enjoyable than an unspoiled one since you already know the end point, so you can look for ways the story builds up to it subtly (if it has any subtlety). Sure you miss out of the first experience, but some story suck on the first go through, like evangelion (for me). But you can argue either way because it's subjective. My problem is it's not treated like a subjective thing, it's treated like a natural law. Like some people take spoilers serious enough to attack people over, it's fucking stupid.
Evan Myers
Also spoilers aren't like reading in reverse order, spoilers are like reading normally, then everyone now and then flipping to the last page to see if a character you like is mentioned to survive or get married or something. Depending on how you are as a person, that can be fine. Like if you don't like thriller style suspense and the book has tonal shift to thriller and you're worried it's gonna stay that way, you can flip tot he back and see. I kind of did that once with mushoku tensei. I read to a point where The MC cheated on his wife and then when it looked like he wasn't going to get any retribution for it, i checked the wiki and it turns out He marries the homewrecker, and then takes a third wife as well and I didn't want to read that shit, I don't like harems. but if the spoilers i sought out indicated everything would correct and it would be a character building moment, i would have kept reading, having "spoiled" the story for myself happily.

>it's subjective >why don't people like it when I do things they dislike? Sounds to me like you're looking for validation rather than an explanation. No one is harmed by spoilers. Some are harmed by their lack of use. If you think a story is shit without spoilers then there is a simple solution other than forcing your will upon others, shut the fuck up and reread it yourself retard. Here is how spoilers are handled: If it's for the current fully released book, the one before, or any point afterwards, then you spoiler it.
