Why is it all so samey?
This isn't a hate thread, but they all follow the exact formula of
>hurrr gotta become the best one in Japan/ the world
Surely there are more interesting motivations?
Shounen
They're mainly made to attract a younger audience so it would make sense to make the plotline simple and easy to follow BUT also include some kind of light resistance factor / edge. It just prints money.
>gotta become the best one
Remove HxH from that list. Gon's only goal in HxH was to find his father.
You are supposed to age out of battle shounen. It doesn't seem "samey" to younger people.
Because thats what the audience wants. Its like shoujo manga, you think I read that shit for plot twits? Its all predictable and thats what I want
Because you only call things “syounen” that follow that formula?
Why are all superhero stories about flamboyant costumes and superpowers?
Obviously quite a bit of entertainment targeted at young males is not about what you listed, but you don't call that “syounen”.
>Why are all superhero stories about flamboyant costumes and superpowers?
they're not
also, that's a visual argument, not a narrative one. hero comics have a much wider array of different variety stories to tell than shounen battle manga
Superheroe movies = shounen anime. Wow it all makes sense just like WE FUCKING SAID YEARS AGO. Never forget that capeshit is also dramatic trash.
Faggot.
Gon only wanted to find his dad
Ichigo only wanted to rescue his friends.
Goku stopped wanting to be the strongest after DBZ started. The villains just forced him to get stronger or it's end of the world
Luffy does not even really want to be the strongest - he just wanted to be the King of Pirates in honor of Shanks. Zoro on the other hand wanted to be the strongest and may actually beat him
recorded
Because again, they're not called so if they are.
Plenty of battle stories that had a different narrative and were targeted to teenage males, but when they aren't about becoming the strongest in the world they're not called that.
>but when they aren't about becoming the strongest in the world they're not called that.
but they are?
as user pointed out, hxh
death note is also undeniably shounen
ftfy
No this isn't fixing anything, dumbass. How do you even breath you pathetic peasant?
get a life instead of spamming these bait threads, you utter failure
Gon is so tall. He's gigantic what the fuck.
>CEO
>10k a day
Ok, nerd.
Geez, I do wonder why.
battle shounen are not the same , people who talk about them are
if you look at them without speedreading you'll realize the thematic differences and the differences in what they want to tell.
but most people are "wow , fights and mc eats a lot haha they are the same"
they all saying different things in different ways. Maybe you just retard?
Not a lot of variation you can do writing-wise considering the demo
Fuck off & get a job, tranny.
I can tell you haven't watched or have your opinons from second hand sources if you really believe all of those characters are the same
same reason all romance anime is the same or echii or shoujo or mecha. They all depend on who they are writing for. Shounen is for 12 year old and up so its going to have the similar aspects that draws them in because it works.
Unironically based
>hero comics have a much wider array of different variety stories to tell than shounen battle manga
AHAHAHAHAHA
I don't mind samey content but what I hate about Shonen is the HORRIBLE values they keep whoring out. Usually through the protagonists like:
- Be stupid. If you're stupid you will be successful at life.
- Be emasculated. Allow women to treat you like garbage and if they assault you? You let them. Especially if a girl is your friend, a female friend who regularly pummels you until you bleed is the best friend you'll ever have (pure infuriating bullshit).
- Never kill your enemies. Even if they are truly the worst possible humans ever, never kill them.
And you get the gist of it. Horrible values.
How incredibly sad you are.
Remove Goku too. He has no goal, he just wants to fight strong people because he enjoys it.
Actually I think you can remove Ichigo too. Doesn't he just want to protect people? It's not like he wants to be the best shinigami.
This is the same for most genres (yeah, I know it's not a genre, it's a demographic), it isn't unique to them.
Thanks for taking out the trash.
>CEO
kek, thanks for the laughs user.
