I'm not much in the whole anime/manga world...

I'm not much in the whole anime/manga world, so forgive me if I haven't understood the culture correctly and if this has been discussed to oblivion.
But, why the hell otakus like Chizuru that much? I thought otakus preferred purity and good character.
I can even understand reading the manga to see the whole trainwreck that are the characters, but it's very weird that people actually like Chizuru and even consider her a waifu.
Can you help me understand the success of this character? Do you think it has something to do with the times we live in?

Nobody likes her.
Can't you just fucking lurk moar before posting?

This.
Some people have bad taste

she is pure tho?

>I thought otakus preferred purity and good character.
That's a small minority that shitrags like sankaku like to promote as being the norm.

The desire to have a gf like the girl they get off to obviously. Why make this thread?

>I can even understand reading the manga to see the whole trainwreck that are the characters, but it's very weird that people actually like Chizuru and even consider her a waifu.
This sentence makes zero sense.
Anyway, you're assuming that everyone else thinks that fake dating people for money through a legitimate agency makes her impure or a bad person. You're also assuming that people all like the same thing, and that everything is black and white. Accept your opinion is not everyone's opinion and that your lack of understanding will not change by others explaining it to you, because it's a simple concept that you're applying unnecessary layers of ideological thought atop.
People like horrible, poorly written sluts, but if they're drawn well or if their interactions are well done. There aren't rules to what people like.

Real otakus do prefer pure characters, and dislike this manga.
t.real otaku
There are a lot of reddit fags and moral fags here lately so blown out roasties and cucks are voicing their love for her.

本物じゃ. . . !

because it's very weird to me if now people desire to have a girl who is a bad person as a gf.
I can understand having a succubus or a crazy tsundere as a waifu, at least one is something unique and magical while the tsundere can symbolize flirting.
But this Chizuru character is defined by her profession, which is very real and not practiced by people who have good character and good personality traits.
This is what I want to investigate.
Why people like this now?

I meant that I understand the success of the manga because it's well drawn and well written, I don't understand why people like the character as waifu.
I'm not sure she would have been liked many years ago, I want to know if something has changed in japan or if I'm wrong and this character would have been a success as a waifu even in the past.

Okay, I understand your confusion. So let's get this out of the way:

* This manga is popular in Japan, China,... and maybe Mexico.
* These countries (and maybe not Mexico) have horrible and stagnant rules about how men interact with women.
* The guy who says [China is a prosperous country] is lying, being paid by the government to say it, or both.
* Everyone was sucking Haruhi's dick beforehand. Otaku-tachi LOVE beautifully-done girls.
* Reiji, the creator of Rent-A-GF, was actually a self-insert of Kazuya. The story is based on his experience.

Let's do the math:
* +5 million copies of this had been sold.
* There are around 600 billion people on this planet.
* +5 million people have shit taste.

There. You're normal. Don't worry about it.

She doesn't harshly judge MC or berate him to the point of humiliation.
She's supportive and a reality check to the main character, who is like a lot of otaku: horny but lacks skills to be in a relationship.

She doesn't hate him but she wants kazuya to get over his slump. Sometimes that's all it takes.

Likely the only people who like her are the
>I could change her
>I could fix her
kind of people.
There are also a ton of normalfags into manga now unfortunately.

>defined by her profession, which is very real and not practiced by people who have good character and good personality traits
Huge generalization and probably the root of your lack of understanding, assuming you're not trolling.

To add to this I watched a TED talk with a sex worker who stated facts: average sex lasts around 5 minutes, so then why do people rent them for 3 hours or more? To have non-judgemental person be with them and listen to them.

Read it again, I dont know what you've been reading, she is meant to be weebs's wet dream

ok, can you summarize how she is weebs wet dream so I can remember what I missed?

>To have non-judgemental person be with them and listen to them.
I have a prostitute friend and this is basically her job. Some guys rent her solely to cuddle and talk. It's eerie.

>based on his experience
>mfw this shit ends with Kazuya watching Chorizo date someone in her league while he's still simping just to be her friend

it would be too based as an ending to ever happen

A weeb's wet dream is not a whore.
A weeb's wet dream is a cute imouto delivered by Angels

Well if you're a man in today's society, you're told to not cry, man up. A lot of men bury their insecurities and let it out in an unhealthy way (she covers this in the video). Other talks like one about a guy who was almost a school shooter, didn't have any people to talk to.
Kazuya in this case had his friends who were pretty much bagging on him on how much of a scatterbrain and a virgin loser he is, not very supportive. He resorts to masturbation as a coping mechanism but still rents out chizuru because he does fall in love with her. She keeps telling him that you can keep renting me until you get a real girlfriend.

Attached: Kanokari.png (1126x1600, 2.09M)

Ok explain me is she virgin or not? that's the only qualify that anime girls have over 3ds

Attached: bc19e814e370d37e5a742ab7c85a2727.gif (500x575, 1.03M)

She does lewd things like holding hands and giving Christmas gifts, so clearly she's not pure.

user go to the point, if she's not a virgin i will just stop watching this shit because i think is already too retarded and that girl was the only one carrying it.

>>horrible friends
That's fucked up.
>>masturbations as a coping mechanism
That's just sad. Not rare, just sad.
>>rents out women from what's basically an escort service
In other cultures, we rent out a prostitute.

They have shit taste.

Purityfaggotry was never anything but a niche isolated to the otaku culture of the 00s. People loved experienced women who confidently flaunted their sexuality during the 70s-90s, until the hyperidealization in dating sims and VNs in the early 00s bred a generation of entitled otaku who demanded to never have their ridiculous expectations betrayed lest they destroy the products they already bought. As soon as VNs died out in the 10s, their influence on anime/manga narratives died out as well, leading to a market where authors could write freely without getting cancelled by insane basement dwellers demanding yet another rehashed "muh virgin tsundere heroine" story.

Chizuru is a college student but there are no mention of any past relationships. She is comfortable holding hands with clients.
As a side note chizuru is trying to become an actor.
On the otherside, MC's ex was in two relationships but they didn't get to the point of getting serious.

examples of confident women characters from the 70s-90s?

Kazuya reminds them of themselves, except he has a chance at a qt and has friends.
