One Piece sucks???!!!

I recently tried getting into three big "classic" manga. Bleach, Detective Conan and One Piece. The first two had me hooked immediately but reading One Piece is a chore. Does it get better? I'm like 20 chapters in and it's nothing but retards screaming. I wish that chill stoner pirate from chapter 1 was the MC instead. Luffy sucks.

I mean, if it's the protagonist, what shounen manga of the past decade or so even has a good protagonist? Arguably Dr. Stone (I like the whole gang; some others don't) but I don't think there are any who are universally liked or even close to it.
