Anyone who got angry at this exposed themselves as a retard of the absolute highest order with less ability to comprehend basic character arcs than an infant baboon. Imagine being upset that the MC got together with the genki younger woman he liked all along instead of the person he only knew as a literal ten-year-old who was never a romantic interest. This board is absolutely stuffed with imbeciles.

The manga clearly set things up romantically a lot more with Airi than with Kayo anyways.

It was such a divisive scene that you have haters of the haters who carry the torch. I love the scene just for the lulz it generates. If we could harness its power we could solve global warming within a generation.

After having watched the anime i thought it was just nice, kayo probably didnt realise the satoru's efforts anyway, besides katagiri is a much better girl than kayo anyway.

It's only divisive because so many anime viewers are brainlets who don't bother to think about the actual themes of a show. The show practically hits you over the head with the fact that Airi was always the romantic interest. I've honestly never understood why so many morons didn't get it. At least with Onani Master Kurosawa you can understand the initial kneejerk because MC was actually romantically invested in the girl, but good god, this was such a narratively bland scene that people latched onto just because they apparently switched off their brains anytime MC wasn't a kid.

This, Airi was always better anyways. And yet lots of people got salty because MC ended up getting to dick a younger genki girl who helped him evade the police when he was wanted for murder instead of the ten-year-old. I'll never understand it.
