Ethereum is useless if you can't connect it to real world data. All it can do without oracles is cryptokitties and useless tokens.
The whole crypto blockchain tech relies on LINK. Every DeFi project runs on LINK, everything that fetches real world data runs on LINK. LINK is more important than Ethereum, because there are many smart contract platforms, but only one oracle network.
