1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 23.5%
2. K-on 19%
3.Violet evergarden 12.5%
Japanese fans favorite Kyo ani Top 3
Where the fuck is K-on? Nips have shit taste.
>Where the fuck is K-on?
It's not #1 and it's not #3 either. It's like it doesn't exist.
source? Also I thought Violet Evergarden is more popular in the west
source: op's anal
last I checked VEG is still the GOAT in the jap MAL, not haruhi
>mfw violet is a classic despite Zig Forums's fury
Posting a source is a must in these cases. Also k-on! revolutionized anime wayy more than anything else did. It's right there with Tezuka Osamu and DB series in terms of overall impact on the medium.
source?
>k-on! revolutionized anime wayy more than anything else did
lmao
Haruhi had unimaginably more influence on anime as a whole than K-On, all K-On did was inspire a wave of samey CDGCT and those anime that copied it's artstyle (like Sora no Woto). K-On is great, but there are no anime that followed it that were truly influenced by it aside from trying to cash in on it's popularity, while the series that most noticeably influenced K-On continues to serve as one for the entire genre.
>Also k-on! revolutionized anime wayy more than anything else did.
is there any source or a full ranking?
Truth hurts.
>k-on! revolutionized anime wayy more than anything else did
you mean that every anime after it copied its artstyle and that we are still recovering from the fallout of that
>we are still recovering from the fallout of that
Slice of life is a dead genre and the K-ON style fad didn't even survive the 2010's.
I fucking wish I lived in the same reality as KyoAni detractors.
I love K-ON! but it didn't revolutionise anything.
The only non-Kyoani show that I can think of that looks like K-ON! is Kokoro Connect (which had the same Character designer).
the k-on artstyle fad lasted till mid 2010s.
>Slice of life is a dead genre
sadly yes
K-on! is more the inventor of cgdct than sol. And we get at least one cgdct every season
this season we had Houkago Teibou Nisshi, and next season we have that rock climbing one
>the k-on artstyle fad lasted till mid 2010s
That is exactly what I mean, user. 2015 was 5 years ago.
>And we get at least one cgdct every season
I'm not saying we don't. But the people who hate on KyoAni in particular and moe in general make it sound like the industry is absolutely dominated by CGDCT nowadays and nothing else compares. That couldn't be further from the truth. I'd go as far as saying we get more dark/serious/manly/"""good""" anime each season than CGDCT, which usually numbers no more than one.
Who said I hate Kyoani?
K-On is second.
>Copied artstyle
That isn't the only way to influence medium. I don't remember many anime/manga copying DB's artstyle yet you still had a wave of long running battle shonens in 90s.
>SoL is a dead genre.
Only for Shonen and isekai shitters. K-on! is the sole reason for boom of CGDCTs in 2010s.
Sora no wo to is another but again, artstyle isn't the only influence one can have. K-on!'s popularity literally shut down the harem trend and we even had idol boom starting with love live which all had it's roots in k-on!
Again no. SoL is not a dead genre, just look at catalog of next season for example and we have at least one CGDCT per season and it all started because of keion.
>We get more dark/serious/manly/"""good""" anime each season than CGDCT
And those genres have always been popular as far as I know. Even classic literature uses some of those genres. CGDCT-moe is something exclusive to anime and keion is the reason for it boom.
>again no
You just repeated what I said
Azumanga is the sole reason for boom of "CGDCT"s in 2000's (Sketchbook, Hidamari, GA, Minami-Ke, Aria, Ichigo Marshmallow, Manabi Straight, etc).
K-On! did absolutely nothing new. Nobody would have given a shit if it hadn't been made by Kyoani after they shook the industry with Haruhi and Lucky Star.
The idol boom obviously has its roots in Idolmaster which existed for years before they finally made a proper TV anime and exploded in popularity. Without them pioneering the franchising of 2D idols, Love Live wouldn't have happened either.
>Caring about what "revolutionized anime" over the actual quality of the story
>the jap MAL
So japanese retards?
Reminder that Cowboy Bebop is SoL

>Nobody would have given a shit if it hadn't been made by Kyoani after they shook the industry with Haruhi and Lucky Star.
Regardless of whether or not it revolutionized anything, K-ON is one of the best executed CGDCT and one of the biggest examples of how good direction can improve on the source material. So no, that is not true.
>Implying people would have cared about it just because it's good
"recovering from the fallout" usually carries a negative connotation
The best boring shit is still boring shit.
K-on is garbage and the fact that it sold better than Nichijou is a damning indictment of Japanese fans.
At this point you just gotta assume any OP with Haruhi in it is shitposting.
>revolutionized
The absolute state of (you)
