oh cool, i might actually. love me some akira

What country?

Upping the resolution of a garbage movie doesn't make it non-garbage. And with this corona thing happening, it'd better be a damn good kino for me to risk my health watching a movie on the big screen.

oh nice, didn't know, just bought tickets.
nice lookin out user.

I gotta drive to the other side of LA to see it but, i might.

It depends on whether all the original art was scanned again, or if they just used some shitty upscaling software.

Actually this would be a deciding factor for me too, I can't seem to find info on how this was "remastered".

I didn't know it was coming to theaters, but now that i do, ill be there

Good luck all theaters near me are sold out.

Already seen it back in august, it was the best experience I had since Tenki no Ko, you really feel it when a good song start blasting and the animation go crazy. But I have to say watching it again with a group of friends that didn't know shit about Akira that the movie isn't at all beginner friendly, most of them didn't get what was happening and one of them even asked me to lend him the mangas so he could read the full thing. Definitely not a movie for everyone

I was the first to get a seat in my theater about 15 mins ago, but yea i these are selling pretty fast now

literally a conspiracy to get weebs corona. do not fall for it

What size paper was the art done on anyway? I have to wonder if it's even worth scanning to 4k if it doesn't have the detail for it

I've also already seen it, and its worth it to get off your couch and go watch it in a cinema. It really improves the whole experience, especially with the sound. However, the resolution seemed pretty normal to me, nothing spectacular.

>all theaters in my state are still closed

count your blessings

what's up with that? I live in a crowded area but these tickets are selling like coal in newcastle here

>paying to see upscaled anime
Uhhhh no sweetie

just wait for the camrip

>camrip
>for an anime upscaled to imax 4k whatever the fuck
this is literally the most retarded thing I've ever seen posted on this site

>Imagine still believing that the flu is still a pandemic.

Nice way to get corona

I think it was a joke

...

Ok, retard. How's the death toll going?

I'm in the middle of looking stuff up to see how it's enhanced

if im being completely honest it really wasn't the most retarded thing i've ever seen here

>subbed only
based

It might be worth it merely to hear the soundtrack in a theater. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie's good, but the soundtrack is just something else. I listen to it multiple times a week.

Kenny ost?

I watched it and I don't understand why so many people consider this shit to be a masterpiece, it's fine if anything.

You mean the inflated count admitted by Burk and the CDC?
