Is 'villainess' the new isekai? Is it the new trendy gimmick the 2020s are going to be about?

It's already been a trend for at least two fucking years.
The isekai trend also started in the late 2000s before it became a full blown mainstream thing in the 2010s.
Not yet. But considering that the amount of isekai anime adaptations with femMCs has been on the rise, we might eventually get there. It's a good thing that Bakarina anime was quite successful, since it means that others might jump on the bandwagon and try to replicate that success with another "otome villainess isekai", or alternatively a "villainess second chance fantasy" like Tearmoon Empire.
Considering that some series are getting axed or forgotten, I would say no. I will say that it is alternative shoujo.
Half of it's made for girls, so it's already shoujo/josei
Villainess centers around the concept of being isekaid into a hot supposedly evil body in anitger world. It's not the new isekai because it's already a subgenre of it. Only recently have we gotten stories where reincarnation never plays an element.
The lords and ladies shoujo genre is better when it's not isekai. Villainesses optional.
No it’s going to be about tsihou as in banished from hero party, group or whatever banishment type stories, slow life type stories and depending on how Mushoku Tensei anime fares, child reincarnation stories.
Okobore Hime V6 translation updated. It's fully translated now I think.
>Villainess
but they're never actual villainesses they're just mary sue heroines labelled as villainesses
What Otomeshit are you reading right now?
O MY ORPHANS
O MY CROP ROTATION
O MY DOUBLE BOOKKEEPING
O MY CHOCOLATE
This is the thread
I feel calling Rachel the "recluse" kind of undersells her.
Well shit wrong version
Any of these actually finished and fully scanlated?
Should loli hitler count as a villainess isekai?
Yes my fellow cultivator.
maybe
Thanks. I'll check that out. Enjoyed Bakarina anime but it felt like it could've been explored a bit further.
she's got a new one too, it's a little "special"
you could start with Rachel's since it was only 3 magnificent chapters but it was written as a novel advert so it wasn't all adapted but it's still a great read.
