The way it was animated was horrificly ugly

I watched the first one when it was airing and liked it. Thought it was unique and refreshing. Didn't bother with any of the other ones aside from watching a few episodes here and there about his sisters doing degenerate shit. The only thing that matters are the doujins.

It’s actually pretty good and Nisio is incredibly lucky that Bakemonogatari got such a great adaptation. I avoid the fan base though.

Hitagi Senjougahara and Koyomi Araragi

Senjougahara has stated repeatedly why she admires Koyomi.
She also intentionally avoids saying that stuff around him because she knows he gets full of himself really easily. If you're basing your comments off the things she says to his face, then you're missing the mark entirely.

To the point that the series is self-aware about the fact that Koyomi has a harem.
The big difference is that there's an Ai Yori Aoshi situation going on where the main girl is decided really early on and the rest of the show involves the MC haphazardly attracting the attention of other women.
