It's out.
Detective Conan
I can't believe Konata is older than Shinichi!
I find that hard to believe myself.
>Conan and Haibara on a backcover pic
cute
I'm glad they opted for that still instead of one with both Amuro and Conan in the same shot.
What's her problem?
They localized the name of the series but not the names of the characters?
She's pissed off because the news coverage of the case Conan hasn't cracked yet is going to preempt her anime.
As it should be.
Case Closed is the official title of the IP in America and the manga still releases using it (and some localized names,) but they made a slipout cover for the new anime releases that you can take off and the actual Bluray has Detective Conan written on it. They also don't put the CC logo in the movie, just the main menu (along with Detective Conan.)
The names reverted back to Japanese for these new releases and is essentially a reboot of the anime license down to an all new cast and more direct translation.
Looks like this release doesn't come with an information booklet like the Germany and Spanish ones did. Both of theirs included the pamphlet in the extra features list. That's a shame, they seem cool.
She doesn't pirate her anime?
Why wait until a recording is online when you could watch the premiere?
It's still on preorder for Rightstuf, does Discotek sell immediately upon posting a listing on their Ebay or do they hold off until the release date for shipments, and Rightstuf is the only one to do pre-street date ships?
Is this the one where Bourbon says Japan is his lover?
why are they afraid of an organization whose half of its operatives are moles from different intelligence agencies?
Yea but they cut it out in the muslim leak along with the shot of the Black Organization members list for some reason during the opening credits, both will probably be reinstated for this release, I imagine. Although both include removed dialogue so I wonder if they'll redub those parts. There's also a spot in the leak where someone's dialogue is just cut off and their next line takes over. I hope they fix that too... they probably won't fix when Conan says a line towards the end that doesn't match the lip flaps at all though.
Because they don't know how many operatives are spies and how many are genuine nor what the actual capabilities of the real members are at their most serious. They've had to stop assassinations before so it's obviously a threat. There's surely a lot of operatives that they don't know about and we don't either, especially since it's a worldwide organization.
Could the organization be considered "the mob" despite not being italian?
The mob is technically just A criminal organization, even if it's often used to refer to the mafia.
>in the muslim leak
The thing this thread is for was leaked a year ago on a muslim streaming site but with edited content for their sensibilities.
Why localize the names if the manga is running with the old version? It's dumb.
*why not
You are dealing with an audience that is more and more interconnected and communicating with folks who know the characters by different names.
The nerds have been using the Japanese names from the beginning. They feel alienated by the localized versions. But now even the normalfags are increasingly awkward with this situation where the characters have one name on the internet and another name in the comic.
It's just a mess.
It's weird seeing more people call Haibara "Anita" instead of "Vi", you can always tell how they consume the franchise that way. Also you're right that people pretty much know the original version, the woman in charge of Conan's manga in the states said as much when she had to explain that chapter where the kids' Japanese last names have to be used and there was a footnote explaining the Japanese version has other names. She said anyone who reads Case Closed probably already knows it's different. I tried to find a picture of it but I don't have it.
It just creates a weird consistency issue where there's so much of the old anime with localized names, including movies, the currently running manga using most of the main casts' changes, and then more anime with Japanese names.
The fillers are finally over. Kaitou Kid and the Fairy's Lips (1018-1021) begins its adaption on October 3rd, with a second part airing on the 10th. The rest of October's schedule is TBA. Looks like it's going to be a good month considering the manga returns on the 7th with something important as well.
I wouldn't mind the fillers even with their shitty motives now, if the art looked better. My enjoyment of the fillers degrading is directly linked to the feeling I got from the art. Once it became bland and atmospherically barren I couldn't stick with them.
With her hair up she looks like Minerva from the London case.
Gosho should introduce a character in one case who shows up a couple times over the course of awhile and then is a victim in another case. It'd have a lot of weight and let Conan react to the death of someone he knew better than 5 minutes without having to commit to a primary character death.
There's a possibility it could span 4 episodes, although the usual is three. The only other canon case that was adapted this year, back in March, was 4 episodes despite being based on a 3 chapter case. I'm looking forward to attempting talkback threads again, it's been half a year.
I was busy yesterday so I didn't get to thank the user who linked me Kazuha's english voice. It didn't seem bad to me but maybe I'd need to have followed her original voice for awhile to really understand.
