The only reason Great Pretender isn't more well known is because Netflix batch releases. Otherwise, people would be eating this shit up with a spoon.
Also, best girl.

I liked it. As long as it garners enough views, we'll get more seasons. Who cares if anyone talks about it?
Retconning the whole show to really be about revenge for an ugly nigger didn't help matters any user. Sidelining best girl and best milf for a generally shitty ending probably guarantees it won't get a second season.
Pretty sure there was an influx of threads after they released the first three cases outside of japan. That being said it's probably doing just fine anyway, too much popularity isn't always a good thing.
>Also, best girl.
I know nothing about the show but the fact that discount Casca sleeps with old men, so if that's your best girl this raises many concerns about the other girls.
>discount casca
Not him but I'm not convinced that abbie wouldn't just straight-up hokuto-no-ken femto into pile of ash and then use his burning corpse to light a djarum
I do
there were some pretty funny twists and turns in that second arc. It would make for some quality "oh no no no no" and "we got too cocky ozbros" time with my fellow Zig Forumsutists, but instead all we got was 1 thread with any discussion, which didn't even hit bump limit.
I'm glad that netlflixbux made the show happen, but this batch release model is fucking retarded and whichever soulless exec signed off on it should get the dorothy treatment without her plot armour.
>best girl
>was okay with tricking the main character into thinking his dad had killed her which in turn caused the main character to "kill" his father
>doubting the the most lethal human being alive
while no discussion is unfortunate, "oh no no no" and all that shit is the opposite of quality. I'd rather have a handful of threads where we actually get to talk about something instead of the fucking mess that csm threads are now
Agreed.
I don't know what happened to CSM threads, that they became so awful. It'd suck for it to happen here (or for any other show).
MC is a cuck, he has been the boitoy of everyone ever since he was born.
Nah, it was was underwhelming by episode 2
it's not popular on netflix japan, since the last arc got released, it was ranked 7th for one day and dropped out of top 10 since
It was trash
Final arc of this moved crazily fast, I mean I kept up, I knew what Laurent wanted to achieve yes, but it was exhausting to watch, but does at the same time make things more exciting and farcical.
first arch was alright, but rest of them were mediocre at best
I don't want to hear sob stories from con artists

If you're talking about it not being well-known in Japan, it is airing weekly on Fuji TV. The Japanese tend not to particularly like shows with heavy non-Japanese themes, although this isn't an absolute rule. The Netflix batch release has probably killed discussion here though.
Netflix has the tendency to mess this up sometimes like cancelling the dark crystal
So what, batch releasing is still better for the viewer.
>Otherwise, people would be eating this shit up with a spoon.
I have no desire to burn through the episodes in a marathon so I'm hiding this thread after this post to avoid spoilers. You guys already ruined that soibean's dad is in it
The show would be more popular on Zig Forums if it wasn't a netflix batch but I can't say it would be more popular on other sites. Not even other sites, if you look at Zig Forums they regularly bitch about shows like The Mandalorian not being dropped in batches. I think Zig Forums has a severe selection bias since the board is built from the ground up to consume weekly, seasonal shows. Other places? Not so much.
To be fair, she was the only one who made any effort to apologize to Edamura after that
What the fuck does that have to do with anything?
If a product is good it will get talked about just like GP during its first batch release, stop crying that an anime you like doesnt get enough shitposting and actually discuss it.
The first half of the show got regular threads because it was fansubbed, so a subbed episode only came out once every few days. It's be an interesting contrast to the second half which got batch subs. In general though releasing shows of any kind in a batch tends to kill off discussion, but it suits Netflix's model of providing endless amounts of entertainment that's just good enough for you to keep watching. They seem to have little interest in building the kind of hype that weekly episode releases would achieve.
>delicious brown girl
Show deserves more attention
But he still spent two months being mindbroken and could've easily offed himself. As a love interest and "best girl" you'd think she'd care more about him
shes from iraq...
Brown enough for me.
Oh yeah, it was still awful what Abbie and the others did to Makoto, but at least she made an effort to make up for it, which was better than what Laurent, Cynthia, or even his dad did.
His dad and Laurent were established as assholes from the very start so that was expected of them. I was surprised Cynthia and Abby agreed though, since they seemed to view him as "friend"
great pretender is shit
Cynthia always treated him more like a kid than an equal, so it wasn't that surprising that she didn't mind keeping him in the dark. Abbie just seemed to be dragged along for the ride, since she was always pretty passive about the previous plans
