Could you please kinda explain this thing to me? I just recently have watched evangelion and I absolutely loved it, but I dont really understand a lot of the plot. Every event that happens relies so much on the main characters personal struggles. Every event for some reasons seems like fate. Like, why is shinji specifically chosen to be an Eva pilot. Why is third impact basically started because of everyone's personal motivation. The main characteristic of the impacts is that they're divine and all, yet everything is so personal. Would the cataclysmic events even happen if the people handling the angel situation were actual collected not pussy individuals? I know this is what makes the story interesting and this is the point of a good story, but it all seems like a big plot device. Overall the first few episodes make it seem like its a regular shit happens anime and not this bible like emotional story. Please enlighten me on this as I am kinda lost.

Essentially the show is telling you to go outside and make human connections because that's what makes us human. Also Third Impact is semi-divine and semi-personal. The forced fusion of Adam and Lillith would bring about Third Impact, which it did. They fused because Gendo wanted to reunite with Yui but Rei told him to fuck off. So everyone gets juiced but can come back if they have the will. I can't tell you why Shinji specifically was chosen. Maybe because he had the best chance to sync to 01 because of Yui.
Whoa, almost like its meant to be an allegory for personal growth through suffering and not a completely realistic sci-fi story
Not an argument. That happens with every anime.
the world is filled with people and most things that happen is done due to personal motivation no matter how far-reaching the consequence
The main message of Eva is summed up in the Hedgehog's Dilemma. The religious stuff is primarily window dressing, since Christian mysticism is - well - very exotic and mystical to the original Nip audience of the 90s. You can work some meaning out of the religious imagery, but I don't know my Bible well enough for that.
this show has the best "alarm!" sequences in anime.
The product and marketing of Evangelion is the most tonally dissonant thing I've ever fucking seen in my life.
Somehow I don't think the execs would accept Anno trying to argue that their popular franchise shouldn't be pumped for as much money as possible for thematic reasons.
>Could you please kinda explain this thing to me?
Why don't you use your fucking brain for once, think for yourself and make your own conclusions. If you rely on people to explain everything for you then you'll never learn anything.
I mean Anno got over his whole depression thing pretty quick when he saw the money flow in.
then he made the rebuilds which are the second worst things about EVA though I've slowly warmed up to them by coping and thinking of them as just a second run of the timeloop which it very obviously is.
Two words: ANCIENT LMAOS.
The true meaning was inside of us all along
Time to get your Eva funk on.

I'm still looking/waiting for Eva hair pomade.
What is the point of this character?
troll the audience with red herrings
porn
The moral of the story is: (It's ok to) be youself.
Merchandise. $14.9 billion don't lie.
In a normal show the plot and internal logic of the universe matter. In eva all of that is irrelevant. Its a show about a kid who hates himself learning to make human connections and accept himself. The robots and ayy lmao are all secondary to shinji and asuka's mental problems.
comfy SoL/MotW spin-off show based around the tone of episodes 9-15 fucking WHEN???
Angelic days was made for people like (you).
>Reminder
