Oddly enough I think the worst of it was in episode 1 with the now infamous lizard girl. The rest wasn't awful but it wasn't great either (with some exceptions where the animation got a noticeable bump in quality). The biggest overall flaw was probably over reliance on CGI that sometimes didn't mesh well with the rest of the animation and lacked a sense of weight to the movements.

the show is a weird mix of stuff, doesn't know what it wants to be, for the drama stuff the stakes felt too low, and overall it's kinda boring, felt too short but not in the "so fun it felt short" but more "it needed time to develop"

Is it really unpopular? Most seem to think it's a comfy series, nothing more and nothing less. In some ways that does make more boring and thus not for everyone. For instance, Everyday Life With Monster Girls does better with comedy and thus is more exciting to watch, but Doctor has a calming atmosphere to much of it and a overall sweet feel.
