Which mangaka has the most hit manga series? I would guess Rumiko Takahashi or Urasawa Naoki
Which mangaka has the most hit manga series? I would guess Rumiko Takahashi or Urasawa Naoki
Not urusawa
How are judging this? Based on anime adaptations? Because Rumiko is probably queen there.
Manga that have become hits. Anime or no anime. As in mangaka that have made several different series so nobody like araki that just makes the same series despite how different all the parts are from each other.
20th century boys, billy Bat, pluto, monster that's a lot right there
Rumiko has sold way more.
The question is what mangaka has had the most series that became popular. Most mangaka get one maybe two hits and whatever else they make fails to reach immense popularity. Its hard to have more than one big hit in the manga world.
Probably Osamu Tezuka or Go Nagai
what do you mean by popular? How popular is popular?
SEOOOOOOOOOO
Tezuka, probably.
Osamu tezuka. It’s not even up for discussion.
Bump
Rumiko hasnt made anything popular since Inuyasha. And Inuyasha was dull as fuck
Probably Togashi if we're talking about WSJ, you know the only magazine that actually matters
Still impressive she's had like 4 or 5 super popular manga and she's been making shit since like 1978. Also rinne was popular. Not as popular as her other famous stuff but still popular enough to be mentioned. Think about other mangaka that have had 1 or maybe even 2 popular manga it's rare. If rinne was a no name mangakas success it would be a great feat. For Rumiko it's just ok
Kek. Even Adachi Mitsuru is more popular than Rumiko.
This
Aren't his works overrated?
>Probably Togashi if we're talking about WSJ
You mean Toriyama then?
Togashi sold more and has two big hits still talked to this day
DB franchise on the other hand is milked to no end and dr slump is already forgotten
Very. And he's had a lot of misses. A LOT.
Rinne and Mao both sell well. Not very good, but money is money.
>Togashi sold more
No? Not even close?
>Togashi sold more
Toriyama has Dr. Slump (35 millions) and Dragon Ball (470 millions)
Togashi has HxH (78 millions) and Yu Yu Hakusho (50 millions)
Toriyama sold MUCH MORE
>DB franchise on the other hand is milked to no end and dr slump is already forgotten
DB sold more than 400 millions before the Super-series
and Arale is still very famous in Japan
Hunterfags know nothing
Arale still has the audience record for anime in japan, retard.
Quality > quantity
DB has no substance and the poop jokes in slump gets old very quick
Moving the goalposts already
mangakas with lots of "hit manga series" has a lot of misses
Tezuka, Go Nagai, Rumiko, Urasawa, Kurumada, CLAMP, etc.
they are/were always "trying" something, I don't think it's a bad thing
None of those have as many misses though, like Urasawa's current series might not be a huge hit but it is a hit and it is selling very well.
>Quality > quantity
so, you admit that Togashi didn't sell more than Toriyama?
changing the argument when losing is easy
and I must remind you what the thread is about:
>Which mangaka has the MOST hit manga series?
the quantity of successes counts, and in this regard, neither Toriyama nor Togashi are relevant, not even in WSJ
Rumiko Takahashi is still the champion of "Big Hit "series:
Urusei Yatsura (1978–1987)
Maison Ikkoku (1980–1987)
Ranma ½ (1987–1996)
Inuyasha (1996–2008)
and I'lll never forgive Rine for breaking this winning streak of 3 DECADES of success
I mean, Inuyasha was garbage and didn't deserve to be a success anyway.
It was obvious shit was going to start sinking after it.
All of her series except Mao received anime adaptations so they are successful enough.
