How old are you, anons?
Do you think you'll watch anime for the rest of your life or are you considering quitting?
How do you cope with the changing climate in the anime industry, the oversaturation of isekai and gacha adaptions and kowtowing to western fans?

been watching for pretty much my whole life I think, I can't really recall a period of my life earlier than watching something (that I didnt know was anime at the time) desu
I'll probably keep watching forever. Ever seen high school I've been a weird flow of binging and following each season intently for 2 years then a few years of drifting out of the scene and leisurely going through my backlog. I dont see that stopping
>Pandering to westerners
>Uzaki-chan immediately gets season 2
I'll watch anime untill the day every manga genre I enjoy turns to western bulllshit. The day that happens I'll probably see if anyother country or indie manga scene takes its place.

I can't imagine I'd stop fully but I've been watching less seasonal shows lately
And I just don't watch it and focus on the shows I do like. Fads come and go and the worthwhile examples will always stay in your heart.
36.
Yes.
Isekai is a non-issue. It's about four shows a season that I probably don't want to watch.
Gacha adaptations are good. The shows generally don't follow the plot of the "game" so they're effectively just anime originals with a lot of girls.
Kowtowing to Western fans is unlikely to happen in any big way. China is more financially relevant. Netflix will fund a few shitty shows, and maybe a couple of okay ones like Great Pretender. The rest of the industry will carry on.

Most likely, I've been watching for as long as I had internet access and I can't see what else I would do with my time.
Regardless of what's happening with the currently airing anime I can always go back to watching the classics. During the covid break I finished both City Hunter and Sailor Moon and had a blast with them.
>Rayearth fan
Very nice, I only watched it this year and really enjoyed. The OVA was very dark though.
And I'm addicted to OPs 1 & 3[ now

I'll continue to watch anime until I'm dead, and even then I'll find some way to watch anime in the afterlife.
It's impossible to stop watching anime if you were an Italian kid in the 70s/80s. Even if you don't watch sub anime, you will watch still stuff like Captain Tsubasa or Attack Yu on TV, since they are still broadcasted, and they are way better than any other stuff (movies, fictions, etc).

Yes.
>How do you cope with the changing climate in the anime industry, the oversaturation of isekai and gacha adaptions
I've seen many trends come and go, so I'm not worried about the things that are popular now becoming permanent. I can find enjoyment in all kinds of anime, so I enjoy the good things of the moment. And I will keep doing so when the next popular thing comes around.
>and kowtowing to western fans?
I wouldn't worry too much about that. Asian markets are becoming more important than the west and the Japanese ultimately mostly care about themselves. If anything, western fans will affect local distributions, but due to the internet nobody is tied to the local any more.
Good taste. Yeah the OVA was weird as fuck. Not really sure what the thought process there was. I didn't dislike it but it's probably something I really have to be in a very specific mood to ever want to rewatch.
Attacker* Yu, basically this

and many other classic mainstream stuff
I am not eligible to vote in the burger elections please leave me alone.
28. I don't really watch anime anymore. I get comfy with some old stuff every now and then but there's a huge disconnect when it comes to modern anime. I do still read manga regularly, though.
Yeah manga are way better than anime. They choose to adapt in anime the worst stuff, unlike what happened in the 70s80s90s when the market if anime was more mainstream and less otaku oriented. There are still some gems in manga industry
the market of* anime
late 20s
I just lost a bunch of money on Zig Forums and got into an argument with a scammer who seemed to think that ripping people off is a legit business model, so I'll probably watch anime to take my mind off things. In the end I should have quit while I was still ahead.
I find isekai overpowered stories to be annoying but I can't do anything to change the fact that the success of shows like SAO spawned this.
I miss stuff like the World Masterpiece Theater series, damn it.
I feel like the anime used to need to be able to stand on it's own as it's own product. A lot of stuff would even often diverge from the manga, sometimes for the better or worse but very rarely did I ever feel like I was just watching a commercial for a LN or manga. Which frankly still puzzles me as to how it makes any sense. Even a shorter 13 or so episode series must still cost millions to produce between labor, music and voice actors.
Or stuff like Nadia. Original sci fi projects well done. Nadia had its flaws but overall it was a great adventure. I adored it when I was 9 yo and I still think it's amazing.
>western fans
I'm worried about chinese fans ruining shit
Japan should only copy what it used to do in the past decades. I know it was way richer at that time and now there are few children, but come on. Less isekai shit and more adaptations of good manga, also shoujo, they are often interesting. I read one called "Nekota etc" (ling title), it was a gem, seriously.
long* title
>How do you cope with the changing climate in the anime industry, the oversaturation of isekai and gacha adaptions
First it was mainly mecha and straight harem rom-coms all day and all night so anything different is nice once in a while. That is until they bury the next thing into the ground.
>kowtowing to western fans?
What are your legit examples of them doing this?
I feel like proper shojo anime is gotten kind of scarce outside like precure. Which I accidently almost called pretear which I doubt anyone remembers.
If there's one thing I hate more than anything it's the trend of having extremely long titles in the form of a question. Maybe I'm just a retard but I liked when titles were easily latched onto. A character name, a proper noun. Something snappy.
That's an impressive age for being here. What kind of series do you watch, Oji-San?
They produced only some shitty short OAV of Nekota

This manga is hilarious and a beautiful story of growth. I was so damn curious about why she saw him as a cat.
It'll be better once they stop pandering to virgin otakus.
The female lead is so based and funny, she doesn't a shit about anything. She is only curious and she wants to discover his mystery

I will probably "quit" when it so happens I cannot find any relatively interesting adaptations or original works. There has always at least been one show that, although not necessarily good has gotten my attention.
I hope the likes of crunchyroll and webtoon disappear over time.
she doesn't give a shit*
I adore like she is completely cold towards romance until the end. She is still growing up. But it's so cute how he falls for her and he doesn't understand why she is so weird around him. Poor kid.
24. Started with obsessive anime watching 12 years ago, and slowly transitioned to manga. Nowadays I only read manga.
