No

weird image,

>Barely known seinen best girl,
>Most known and fescriptive seinen/gore character
>who the fuck is that guy?

deppends on what you consider seinen, i mean apparently quoting Game Grumps im pretty FITH since for me OPM isnt seinen, i mean for me seinen starts in something like "Psycho Pass" And gore starts at somethiing like "Elfen Lied" but for others since naruto lost an arm is gore and seinen, i dont know man, for me its just a shonen.

So i think real seinnen is less popular but ot dead

If Psycho Pass is Seinen then Seinen has no standards lmao.

Huh interesting, where does seinnen starts for you?

while i wrote this i didnt notice the guy i didnt recognize was frompsycho pass, im an idiot, anyway...

Hunter x Hunter

Hellsing is extremely shit

>Black Lagoon
>barely known
How? It is (or used to be before the mangaka got even lazier) easily in the top 10 most popular edgy seinen stuff.

To clarify, I think the creators of Psycho Pass intended to create something that would fit under 'Seinen', it's just that it totally fails. It's a poser. It's a show where the cops explode people with comically over-militarized terminator guns with no trial or counseling to the victims; a Guns-of-The-Patriots-esque AI conglomerate of psychopaths run society (and do it for free) and the MC continues helping them because they've privileged her enough and she's not interested in direct confrontation or shaking up her brave new world; the main male and villain of the first season constantly name-drop A- to C- list philosophers that the writers got off a Wikipedia page to sound smart without ever discussing the content of that philosophy.
It's the BBC's Sherlock of anime. Psycho-Pass performs many of the aesthetics and conventions of 'seinen' at a superficial level, but beneath the surface, it's another smart-people-are-wizards shonen.

Seinen and Shounen are manga magazine demographics you retards.

How? I admit it has more gore and slightly more mature and developed themes than your average Shonen, but that's where it stops imo.

should have used a character from Baccano

Here's your seinen, bro.

for me its shonen bro

bro, Black lagoon is amazing in my opinion, when i have to select a name for a place i still name it Roa'napra or Roa napur like the hidden city in this anime, but its really barely known, my point is still invalid since i noticed the last guy from PP tho

I'm not talking about it being good or not, it's one of the anime people recommend the first when normalfags ask for mature anime and it's 135th in popularity in sites like MAL while Hellsing Ultimate is 129th. It's pretty well known, or used to be and became forgotten over the years.

No.

edgy hellsing ultimate panies =/= mature

also isn't golden kamuy seinen? so obv not dead

Soft seinen

such a classic anime drawing style

>To clarify, I think the creators of Psycho Pass intended to create something that would fit under 'Seinen', it's just that it totally fails. It's a poser.
Ok you dont like it, for me its a prety ok, not great, but fine it still seinen

>It's a show where the cops explode people with comically over-militarized terminator guns
I dont remember it being gory to be honest but whatever, Im pretty desensitized about it so i didnt pay attention to that, i understand your "its just to look cool BS" since its probably true in that regard

>with no trial or counseling to the victims;
its a selling point of the anime, i think its written in the sinopsis dont see why you blame it for this, I mean, I dont see whats there to blame about it, of course its wrong, but thats the point.

>a Guns-of-The-Patriots-esque AI conglomerate of psychopaths run society (and do it for free)
yeah same again, just that this time it isn't in the synopsis, then again it was really obvious.

>and the MC continues helping them because they've privileged her enough and she's not interested in direct confrontation or shaking up her brave new world;
I mean from what i remember she didnt help, she just stays out of their way since they have privileged a lot "the world", and trying to stop them would be really harmful to society at this point, she choose the blue pill for all of the rest, for "us", eve if you wanna believe she was selfish and did it for herself, its really unique to see an MC thats not perfect and would choose the better for himself.

Are Akira and GiTS seinen?

A pretty interesting moment in my opinion. and it opens a devate to wether what she did was right or wrong, selfish or selfless, so it works, still nothing to critique here.

>the main male and villain of the first season constantly name-drop A- to C- list philosophers that the writers got off a Wikipedia page to sound smart without ever discussing the content of that philosophy.
Maybe.
Not a philosofer, I've read some but its not for me since most philosofers appear to say the same socratic bullshit over and over again, but thats just my stand point about being phylosofy ignorant, i actually really like the philosphy books the most normie youtuber "Pewdiepie" recomends so, thats how much im not into it, but, I dont think the authors did that, I actually though very similar to what you said while wathing the anime, but i though that the villain was always trying to sound cool, and wise, like a child who only cares about being edgy and all is a game for him, he probably really read the books but he did it just to talk about it, thats the impresion i get from that, like you know... most real psychos, or do you think psychos are like hanibal lecter, wich is also writen like you described.

>It's the BBC's Sherlock of anime.
Dont get that one.

>Psycho-Pass performs many of the aesthetics and conventions of 'seinen' at a superficial level,
but performs that things in the surface, so its seinen.
the worst gore out there, and i mean bad in the sense that its just gore to attract attention like "dead tube" or similars, are still gore.

>but beneath the surface, it's another smart-people-are-wizards shonen.
Again... Maybe
then again, I dont remember that well, but I didnt see a point where they actually "deduced" stuff but i dont remember it being a mayor point of the story at least, i guess it was used to move the story forward and i see how you would dislike that.

What the fuck is she carrying in those pockets?

Seinen is a marketing demographic so no shit

No
