shoujo is cringe and gay

Kamisama Hajimemashita was literal perfection for me. I didn't read the manga though.

What's so good about Fruits Basket? Why is it so long?

I'm not really a shojo guy, but from time to time I need my dose of cute stuff. I really liked Shirayuki, also liked kimi ni todoke and loved ore monogatari, but Shirayuki is my most liked show because the production was really high, every character was nice and the fantasy setting is something you don't see every day, and well, Shirayuki was really cute.

Kodomo no omocha, fun as fuck.
Fruits Basket, some relationships and characters are kinda shitty and too much muh drama but still great.

>It’s a shoujo thread
Based.

Taiyou no Ie is my favorite.

for me it's the one where the guy threatens to rape the girl

Ouran High School Host Club. The manga. I guess CCS for anime since it's the only shoujo series I can think of off the top of my head that I've watched the anime for but haven't read the manga. Been meaning to get to it though.

My fav is the objective GOAT shoujo, of course.
Pic related.

Ludwig Kakumei.
The key to enjoying shoujo manga is to pick up on red flags early and drop asap; there's a lot of unbearable garbage and no way to sort out the fun stuff other than assessing manually. There are no scores or lists to help you find good manga so just pick titles at random and keep trying until you find something enjoyable.

My favourite is the one with the abusive mom.

Which is pretty much all of them.

Oresama Teacher deserves an anime.

This is pretty common from what I've seen. Though even among shoujo manga there's some aimed at younger audiences that won't have this.

Can't think of any shoujo manga I've read with this though.

I was going to say I wanted to read thing but didn't want to pick up another ongoing series but it turns out it ended earlier this year so that's cool. That's happened to a few series I've put on my to read list recently.

I almost don't remember that show, but he also hit her.

It's really fun though I hope you can read Japanese since the English translations are pretty behind.

It's only 3 volumes behind from what I can see. And a new translated chapter just came out about a week ago. By the time I get around to reading it (not to mention the time it'll take me to read 26 volumes) they'll probably be finished.

Even if it didnt reach its full potential (fucking editors and braindead redaers) is still the best.

Also is anyone reading Natsume's Book of Friends? That's another shoujo series I want to read that's currently ongoing but does it seem like it could end soon or does it seem like it still has a while? Though several of the manga I'm currently reading seem like they may end soon so when that happens I'll have to decide which ongoing series I want to pick up next anyway.

I prefer this to Yona of the dawn and I'll fight for that.

This one needs the fruits basket syndrome, a full on reboot adaptation.

The anime adaptations of these two are very different.
Also speaking of adaptations of shoujo that discard the source, Full moon and Kaitou Jeanne.

Chances are if the manga was serialized in Hana to yume or flowers its a good bet for a shoujo manga.
Kaori Yuki is my favourite manga writer/artist because I love her gothic, cynical style and twisty stories.

Honestly I find the girls in a lot of shoujo manga attractive, mostly because I like the pretty looking/girly art (and the girls tend to be petit), I like some of the dudes aswell.

Anime only? Thoughts on the second season?

Natsume's book of friends is the only shoujoshit that I follow religiously but it seems that the previous scanlator group has already dropped it

I wanted to try this but it looks very sad. Is it a sad series or solshit?

According to MangaUpdates a translated chapter just came out 4 hours ago. The last three chapters (though two of them were .5 chapters) were by Dog Circle Scans.
