In terms of the DF thing, I was under the impression that (showcased in punk hazard when the giant axolotl slime died) fruit powers went into the nearest available fruit. Now I don't know what this means exactly or whether it has to be a specific kind of fruit for certain DF to go into it or whether it was a completely random bet (he did have a full sack of apples). But my best guess is that Blackbeard had a fruit on him that Whitebeard's power went into and he ate that, it would explain why whitebeard was untouched but why they also needed the cloth to conceal what he was doing. It would also explain why Champion Burgess had that random bag on him when he tried to kill Sabo.
There are some problems with this theory, like the unlikelihood of Ace's powers just sitting somewhere in a fruit bowl at Marinford after he died, but until Oda comes out with the actual method this theory remains simply "likely."

Let me be clear in saying that I HOPE I'm wrong. But the way that Oda has structured Onigashima just has me feeling/thinking this way.
To put it one way:
* We now know that Apoo's bounty has been raised to 350mil. Hawkins' is 320mil. While Apoo's role as informant is odd, it can be argued that they're both just Headliners or Headliner-tier.
* None of the Tobi Roppo's bounties have been revealed yet.
* Though we don't know Queen's bounty, it's not farfetched to say that the All-Stars all have bounties above 1Bil.
* And of course, Kaido's is 4.6Bil.
Yes, bounties != power levels, but they're a close enough gauge. If the Tobi Roppo's bounties are "accurate", they should be in the 400mil to 900mil range. For SH members with bounties below Zoro's, the Tobi Roppo's bounties would be at least twice as high (but likely about 4-5 times high, minimum) as any of theirs. Luffy has always immensely struggled in these sorts of situations, and he had MC plot armor. From a writing standpoint, it would be a fucking nightmare to write genuine underdog fights for every single weak SH member, even if they team up.
It's going to be like Whole Cake Island, where the crew had a few specific goals and did everything they could to survive/evade while achieving those goals. WCI's goals were "get Sanji, get Poneglyph, get the fuck out". Wano's main goal is "beat Kaido; get Poneglyph; maybe force out Beasts Pirates". Beating Kaido and the All-Stars will be enough for the other goals, I think, so that's all the weak members will be aiming for: help their strong crewmates defeat the cream of the crop by distracting everyone who might interfere. Actually victory against anyone who isn't Kaido + All-Stars is not the goal.
