when will the fucking isekai fad die out?
When will the fucking isekai fad die out?
When Japan gets talented writers aka never.
When the next shitty fad comes around.
cringe
l'm calling it. The next new fad is going to be about random guys who hit it rich on youtube or twitch or whatever and then live out their revenge fantasy on the high school people who bullied them. lt's basically a fantasy isekai but set in the real world.
I want more predictions. What's the next big thing?
some battle royale type shit. fantasy setting with vidya logic and mechanics or your typical shonen setting with gay energy powers or weapons and stuff. so like hunger games and fortnite but mangafied/animefied.
this was already a thing
too korean
>implying whatever will follow is going to be any better
Sounds like Darwin's Game earlier this year.
I unironically enjoy isekai. It's fun.
>when will the fucking isekai fad die out?
>Die out
Nigger, that’s like saying “when will the Mecha Genre die out?” It’ll never die in Japan since it’s only catered to Japanese Audiences and not for Amerimutts.
No more anime in the future, only Vtubers.
You realize there's a meaning to the word fad, right?
>MMO fad had self insert protag apply his loser skills (muh video games) to attain fame and pussy
>Isekai fad has self insert protag apply common knowledge (muh crop rotation, muh soup) to attain fame and pussy
What's next? We already had "he was born with terrible special power/no special power which actually makes him OP as shit somehow".
>You realize there's a meaning to the word fad, right?
Fad doesn’t mean anything when it comes to Japanese Entertainment.
Darwin's Game is a trojan horse, it'll be terrible if you want battle royale specifically.
What would a suicidally depressed japanese salary man dream of while he pretends to be working during his 4th hour of over time?
Power fantasies and comfort food.
Think about it though, it would be cheaper than even cheap 3d animation. Just make an anime by hiring and recording vtubers who act out their lines. Maybe even make the anime in first person so it makes sense you only see them from one angle. You could make an episode in a day for almost nothing.
Did anybody like this show? The character design (for her at least) was good, but holy shit they stretched out a 1 episode story to the entire season.
>What's next?
Hard to tell, now that Abe is gone.
I'd watch the fuck out of a Hololive SoL anime desu.
I enjoyed it, was one of the few shows I liked that season. But yeah a bit stretched out.
I don't really mind the isekai setting.
The problem it's that everything else is shit
It wouldn't even be hard to write something good and japan has plenty of animators and shit
Even Zig Forums could come up with some good story
>DIE out
You answered yourself. By definition, Isekai can never die.
rent a gf clones
Iseikai could be innovative and interesting with tons of possibilities, the problem is that now it's just a replacement for haremshit and otaku power fantasy. What you want is that lessen and have more creativity in their writing.
I quite like fish out of water stories, but this genre needs to die. It’s become a massive cringe worthy trash factory.
far too specific
Isekai anime always have really good concepts that always fall apart after a few episodes and break down into the same shit the rest of them do.
if isekai die, will it be reincarnated?
They aren't fish out of water stories most of the time. They rarely bring up how different otherworld culture is, they have similar flora and fauna, they happen to be just like my video games, people trust them quickly.
when we get isekai'd
it would be extremely painful
They're a big genre...
/thread
he didn't even adress OP's question
The fad will end when you die, get reincarnated as the protagonist of your very own isekai, then single-handedly kill the whole genre with your shit taste and boring personality.
