It's good, user. Very wholesome and comfy.

thanks user, a comfy show would be a good idea right about now. its been a disappointing week with jack jobbing offscreen, barusu being an idiot and not reading contracts with witches, one punch man's boring dogfight, and uzaki-chan's run ending.

>Anons debate for years whether or not things like the transporter in Star Trek kills you
>roll over like trained dogs for the "happy" clone ending
That nigga dead.

The MC literally died and gets replaced by a clone and they act that it's okay because the clone has 99% of his memories, even though it is a different person.

Well, we could argue that we are all so different from just one day to the next, it might as well be a different person. As humans we don't really experience reality in any way, as in we can't experience the "now" time wise, we see the world just different enough that we might as well not be looking at the same thing and we can never truly understand each. What we experience and understand as "Me" and "You" is very inconstant as it is.

>we are all so different from just one day to the next
while that is true, thresholds apply. fair wear and tear, materially different, substantially similar etc... are some descriptions used to ensure that we find common ground. some notion of these changes are related to concepts like depreciation. also, the measurements we use for real world objects have margins of error in recognition of the lack of precision and consistency.

if people are uncomfortable with the idea that the MC is cloned, it is because it challenges socially established thresholds of what constitutes "the same person". people can understand the functions of the integumentary system, traumatic amputation and elective organ transplants since the majority of the "original" body remains in tact, but a complete destruction of the body and download of backed-up memories into a new body is seen as a substantial difference.

It's the memories and consciousness that make you human, not the body you live in. He still has that 99% of his memories, and it's not like Natsume can't tell him about what whappened with the system and everything. He just has a new body, but as a "person" he's still the same, he has the same memories and remembers Natsume and everyone else. For cyborgs, human bodies have always been just vessels so I don't think it's a big deal for Kabu that he has a "new" body which still looks basically the same anyway.

The cyborgs were just transferred human consciousness as it is. The body was never important. Hell, boss man had in total at least 4-5 different bodied, including his cyborg one, and nobody questioned that.

This. It's as if people don't want a happy ending and complain for no reason.

if they started as a consciousness prior to transfer, then it makes sense to place little value on the body. otherwise, people tend to think of the original body as the vessel that grew and nurtured that consciousness and all its struggles and achievements give it perceived value.

The body and the mind are intrinsically linked though. When the body dies so does the mind and the soul. The back-up is a simulacrum. It's not Kaburagi, it's a shell that has all of the memories of Kaburagi. Those memories are just data (and ignoring the fact that Kaburagi and company are all robots in the first place, that's not relevant) and the clone Kabu hasn't actually experienced them, it's just a recording that is capable of new experiences and growth. Natsume and everyone else are deluding themselves into thinking they're the same when that's just not true.
If the Kaburagi that died was the clone and his memories got put into the original Kaburagi then the argument could be made but that's not how it works.

It's not about how we humans see it, it's about how the cyborgs see it. And I don't think they even believe in souls and all that kind of stuff. He's still the same person with the same memories and conciousness. He just has a new body, and even that body looks the same as his old one. That's it. His human body it's even his original body in the first place. He could have a completely different body and I don't think he would even give a fuck, since he could change them a lot of times with no attachment to them.

>His human body it's even his original body
Ugh I meant "isn't"

This looks like a fun poster.

Why didn't they show pregnant Jujube?

So you guys would be happy to have your mind copied and put into another body, and then for the original you who is still conscious to be killed and replaced by the copy? Hey, it's 99% still "you", right?

Are you sure it doesn't already happen? Just not in the exact way you described it.

I wouldn't mind. Hell, it would be nice if there was a chance to do something like that, I haven't been taking care of myself and my body is just weak and fucked up now, so if I could get a new one (maybe even better looking), it would be great.

hi, my name is george and im a meme collector. would you mind sharing the source of the OH MY BACKUP meme and corresponding reactionary images?

Adding to that, I wonder what people with serious illnesses, deformed people etc. would think about it. I think many of them would definitely like to get a new, healthy body. I don't know how many of them would even think about their souls or whatever, if they had the opportunity to copy their consciousness into a body that is healthy and strong, so they could live a normal life.

this show became a 0/10 when they killed pipe
i don't care what you anons think, i want that plush and i want to kill both kabucuck and bitchface over there for letting that go

You're completely missing the point. YOU won't be getting a new body, YOU will be dead. The new body will be inhabited by a copy who isn't you.

Revived Kaburagi probably doesn't remember anything that happened after he was upgraded.

we're going to need some OC george, using the exploitable as seen in OH MY KOMODO GENE and OH MY SEVEN QUIRKS.

The copy thinks it's you and more importantly the "ego" effectively is you. You can argue that severely braindamaged people aren't "them" because they effectively have amnesia. From the perspective of pure ego, a person who has perfect copies of your memories is more you than a version of you with dementia/alzheimer's is.

Twitter account posted this, cute!

It's a few hours of memories at most, who cares.
